Actually people tend to give their attention and focus only to things and matters which concern them. If subject line is not appealing, a person may not read the mail but delete it. Don't we drop calls from Banks & Institutions who want to offer you Credit Cards and Cheap Loans which though useful, yet we decline. We believe that their offer is enticing and the reason why they are calling and pursuing you is for their own advantage and not for ours. Academic Journal and Case studies in Marketing would not be of interest for a Finance or an IT guy.
However if you get a Long Forwarded Message on your WhatsApp from a friend or in the group of which you are a member we are sure to read up to the last word even if it does not concern us because we feel it is personal as it has been sent to our mobile.
Just a general observation I have shared.

Dear all,As far as I'm concerned, except few, many people write articles/books and they publish, this is just to add weightage into their profile and publishers publish it to earn money and sustain.Invent of Technology made us away from books and now we use tabs, phones and computers to read.Hardly few pedagauges open books to read/teach and novoices are so infrequent to with books but for sure they read ready subject scanners near exam time.Regards,Prof. Syed Ameen AhmedOn Fri, 2 Jun 2017 at 6:35 PM, Pious Thomas <dr.pious@gmail.com> wrote:Thank you Prof. Dutta,This question is always in my mind.I wonder millions of research articles/books being published by universities of well repute, but not read by common people. One of the article written by German professor says 90% of the research articles are not read by the people who could use it for making a change. Some scholars may give an answer to this?
