Re: [MTC Global] Corruption Issues and Challenges in India

@Hypothesis: Good, very good sir. The nail is hit rightly. The decision makers in education must introduced such education as may inculcate "Ethics" in the minds of coming generations. Only internal controls by individuals can save the country from this epidemic. 

I am not writing about religions as the religions professing people preach different and act different that leaves the pupils in lurch and confused. Self-reading, interpreting and following religious scriptures is better.

Thank you, Dr.  Waghodekar. I would rather call your enclosed note a reality, not a hypothesis.  Corruption has become an integral part of the culture. In India and most of South Esat Asia, honest people are rare, or a tiny minority. Corruption in India starts from both ends - the top as well as the bottom and gradually engulfs the middle. A society without good values is bound to suffer. As you mentioned, unless we focus on cultivating a civic society based on the rule of law, not much will change.

Corruption Issues and Challenges in India 

Citizen – Government Corruption 
Bribes for various services like Ration Card, LPG connection, Vehicle Registration, Property Registration, Driving License, Water Connection, Electrical Connection, Getting Sewers Clean, Income Tax Assessments, Municipality works/permissions, Police FIR, Traffic Police, Passport Verification, Provident Fund collection, Birth/Marriage Death Certificate, Aadhar/ID/Voter card, Railway TC seat assignment, School and College Admission, Hospitals, Courts, Getting Government Jobs and Transfers. 

Business - Government Corruption 
Bribes and Kickbacks for getting licenses, getting qualified as a Government supplier, finding tender information, winning a contract, collecting dues, supply nexus where the Government/Taxpayer is cheated, Corruption in cash and kinds, with individuals officers or everyone in the chain/transaction. Bribes are paid for most inspections and certifications like Labour, Quaity, Fire, Safety, Weights and Measure, Pollution etc as well as to renew most licenses. Bribes are also paid in most tax dealings like VAT, Service Tax, Customs/Excise to get clearance or file a return. 

Business – Business Corruption 
Bribes paid by entrepreneurs/SMEs to get qualified with big companies to do business, get tender information, secure orders, collect payments, get ahead of competition. In some cases where supply is in shortage, bribes are paid by distributors/dealers to get stock. SMEs used by large companies as sub-contractors to pay bribes to the Government. 

Citizen- Business Corruption 
Citizen paying bribes in some private school/colleges for admission. Bribery of private company officials to secure a job. Bribes being paid for home loan, insurance claim processing, faster processing of phone/internet connections.
