Title:  Enterprise EDI WTX(WebSphere Transformation Extender) Map Developer

Location: Basking Ridge, NJ

Duration: Contract / FULL TIME

 

Job Description:

 

Overview

Responsible for design, development, testing, implementation, and updates to source and data files related to WTX mapping processes.  Other duties include providing analysis and documentation, as well as support for production and test defects in debugging map issues.

 

Responsibilities

Creates and modifies WTX maps by converting project requirements and specification documents into design and implementation of executable WTX maps and associated source and data files.

 

Job Functions

·         Works with Systems Analysts to design new process flows for map integration.

·         Provides analysis from a WTX perspective on map functionality and design for new maps and updated maps.

·         Reviews mapping specification documents and provide feedback to System Analysts.

·         Designs, builds and updates input/output data structures (WTX type trees) for use in WTX maps.

·         Designs, builds, and updates WTX map source files containing executable maps to be deployed.

·         Performs full unit testing for all map development tasks (new maps and updated maps).

·         Supports application, system, and integration testing of maps within the deployed environment.

·         Post-deploy support for any reported issues or defects.

·         Debugs production issues related to WTX map execution.

·         Maintain source file versioning.

·         Document WTX map functionality.

Skills and Qualifications

·         Experience with IBM Web sphere Transformation Extender (WTX) Design Studio version 8.x (preferred), or experience with Mercator Design Studio version 5.x and up,  including working knowledge of:

o   Map Designer

o   Type Designer

o   Command Server

o   Type Importer

o   IBM Eclipse GUI

·         Experience with various standard data formats, including X12, XML, HL7.

·         Ability to work with XML schemas preferred.

·         Knowledge and experience with HIPAA transactions sets and implementation guides is required.

·         Familiarity with text editor software with hex editing capabilities (ie. Ultra-Edit) for working with data files.

·         Ability to apply technical standards, principles, theories and techniques related to design of maps.

·         Possess strong data analysis skills; ability to create/edit test data in various formats.

·         Working knowledge of Word and Excel (for documentation).

• 8 or more years of experience performing the duties identified above.

 

• Extensive knowledge of system integration, testing and change management required to support Fare applications modifications for NEPP.

 

• Ability to quickly gain knowledge of business process analysis, benchmarking techniques and ability to apply technology to solve business problems related to IT's support for NEPP.

 

• Ability to understand computer software at the "power user" level. Familiarity with word-processing, spreadsheet, database, BPR, and ability to master new programs quickly, especially Microsoft Project.

Required experience includes: managing and coordinating tests and modifications for integrated fare or financial systems, identifying training requirements and managing training delivery, managing and coordinating inter-organizational, inter-departmental, and inter-disciplinary logistical support, and supporting start-up operations.

 

• Knowledge of the theories, principles, and standard practices in financial and fare systems as used in public entities or transit systems, and of the software tools involved in development, implementation, customization and maintenance activities associated with these applications.

 

• Knowledge of the methods, tools and techniques used to evaluate, select, develop, test, implement, integrate, and troubleshoot applications and systems software and hardware of all types.

 

• Experience with real time system interfaces desirable.

 

• Responsibilities include providing project team guidance, some of which is technical.

 

• Responsibilities may require working some evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advance notice
