RE: [MTC Global] Student feedback-Yard stick of faculty performance?

I had adopted two practices in student feedback system and results were fairly accurate. Remove 5% highest and 5% lowest scoring. Second, higher grade to the teacher has to reflect in exam results. A belief that students will give low score to a strict but good teacher and high score to a lenient but bad teacher is unfounded.

I total disagree with all the statements,it depends on attitude how you will take as far as I am concerned I will take daily, weekly and semester feedback same is discussed with the teacher wherein teacher takes positively and quality of the teacher improved a lot for example a teacher getting score of 2  out of 5 at the time of first feedback same teacher was given 4 at the third feedback. Its not a yard stick but it is quality improvement in teaching methodology.Every teacher takes positively when we counsel them

Dear All,

Traditionally student feedback and exam results been considered major yardsticks of the performance and effectiveness of faculty members by the leadership of various colleges/institutes/organizations. However, lately this issue is being debated widely because of the loopholes and errors in the student feedback process. It's observed that in several cases, student's give faulty feedback owing to strictness/discipline being imposed by faculty etc. The students may even wrongly favor a faculty for being friendly and lenient .In some cases the student undergo undue influence to negatively/positively incline towards a faculty etc. Apart from this, even management may use this as a tool to support their decisions in select cases,  Solicit your views, experiences and opinions on the same.
