You should have known better than to try burs.  Hell, burs today barely cut teeth.

That's how I do it; cut a slut and use a broken hoe or hatchet to try it off. Yesterday, I went through 4 or 5 cheap, off brand fissure burs before I gave up and went to a diamond. Diamonds are the way to go.

The good news is that you can use the slit and pop technique, since they really don't bond to the tooth like Emax does. Bring plenty of diamonds! :)

That's kind of what I was thinking. They're opaque to x-rays, so the laser will probably bounce off.
