Dear Mr. Suresh

I had an opportunity to attend an interview for an academic post of a foreign university.  The interview took place in a foreign country.  I was waiting for the interview to start and got informed that the the person who conduct the interview will be coming slightly late.  He came few minutes after the schedule time of interview.  He introduced himself as a professor in  a prestigious university in Australia and apologized for coming late.  

The interview was so friendly and and it end up as a really motivating experience for me.  He created a totally informal environment in which i could expose my ideas freely.  Actually I did enjoy the interview

I also had experience in attending other interviews.  But most of them were insulting.  

Later, I have got the opportunity to interview many candidates.  I always keep in mind the approach of the Australian Professor while I interview candidates.

I think when the interview board doesn't want you to be the part of their organization they  either ask such absurd questions or they ask such an irrelevant questions (beyond the topic or area which are usually difficult for candidates to answer) which humiliates the candidate. 

After such an experience none can claim that his/ her interview was good and therefore he/ she should have been hired. This has become commonplace not only in academics but in corporate as well.

This is really ridiculous practice and not expected of learned people in the interview committee.
