It is herpetic, Arun. If it is a constant recurrence, as my assistant had in her nose, Valtrex 1000 mg/2 caps(tabs) bid for two doses.  If not clear repeat.  Then 200mg of Zoviraz (genetic) every day.  My assistant went to one 800 mg per week of Zovirax.  Valtrex is simply quicker and preventive with cheaper Zovirax.  I do not understand why people refuse to use antiviral PO meds for these because they work without fail if you get them right when the patient feels the lesion starting and they will know because it has a particular feel.  If Valtrex is too expensive for patients we use 800 mg Zoviraz bid for seven days.  Since my assistant went on 800 mg of Zovirax once a week she has not had an eruption.
