Duration: Initial 6 month projects with strong opportunity to extend into follow on projects. 2-3 weeks on boarding process with background, credit checks and fingerprinting.
Job Details:
Our client, a leading financial services provider in Raleigh-Durham, seeks experienced Mainframe QA testers to join existing QA team in testing a new account system.
The new system supports trading and brokerage services and was developed by a third party provider.
Will work from test plans to create and execute tests.
Testers are expected to assist leads by providing inputs to test strategies, though primary responsibilities are developing and executing tests.
Will be testing out transaction processes (buys, sells, fee calculations, account redemptions, etc.), as well as web based functionality, database reports, and batch inputs/ outputs. Initial testing will focus on fee processing functionality.
Required Skills:
Solid Mainframe and back office testing experience: online, batch, data.
- solid data experience: validating data inputs and returned outputs are correct.
- Experienced with query tools (AQT, DB Query Analyzer, Toad, SQL) for basic data extraction (inner/ outer joins), working with database tables, etc.
- Experience testing processing functions/ calculations -- validate calculations processed and returned are correct and also displayed correctly online.
- Experience testing and manipulating files (VSAM ideal or Flat Files).
- Excellent communication skills -- can communicate strategy for testing, willing to work with dev confidently and push back on issues when necessary.
- Solid understanding of and testing experience with transactional processing applications and data flow, ideally in trading and financial accounts space.
Desired Skills:
Strong financial services -- trade processing and fees generated from brokerage services.
