Re: [camnetwork] Re:DjEric//Breaking Health News EBOLA In CAMEROON ? Not Confirmed But Concerning

Hello All,
In a situation like this such broadcasts are equal to silly jokes made by some airline passengers that they are carrying a bomb  on them. When I read the news I called Bamenda and talked to a couple of people and none had heard anything like that. Secondly if someone dies within one week of arriving Cameroon,it therefore means he had been sick for some time in Nigeria but it could not have been because of ebola  disease because the Nigerian Authorities would not have allowed that person to travel in the first place. Was he just at the Nigerian/Cameroonian border where he could just be allowed to enter Cameroon without the risk of contaminating many Nigerian  citizens along that way? Thirdly would the US allow a sick serviceman to travel instead to Cameroon when suffering from the disease? All the variables did not add up  and so such news must have been verified several times before raising an alarm. Its a very sensitive issue and might affect the nation in many ways.

DjEric,

Accept my sincere condolences, my brother.  And, thanks for clarifying the cause of death of your cousin in Cameron in your e-mail below. However, I am in constant communication with the Ministry of Health in Cameroon; will update the Community periodically regarding the EBOLA situation in Cameroon.   May the almighty Jehovah God give you and your family the strength to deal with this loss. May he rest in peace.

Kind regards.

Ebola can cause liver failure also, but he was never tested and proven to harbor the virus. Let us wait for the autopsy results.

Sango,
I know the person who died. He was a cousin of mine and he died of liver failure. Not Ebola.
Thanks.

Family,

I have been informed that a Cameroonian who was in the United States Army traveled to Nigeria for two months, got really sick while in Nigeria then went to Bamenda and died within a week in Bamenda.  He died last Friday October 31, 2014. Pertinent information is that he had symptoms of the EBOLA Virus, I was also advised that specimen taken from his body was flown to Yaounde for further testing. Again, the news is that, he lived with his family and friends before his death.

As of now, there is no need for any panicking but concerns. Now, for the next 30 days, lets watch out for any out break or increased death reports in Cameroon. ___I am scheduled to arrive in Cameroon in December but will have to evaluate the situation. God is on our side; I do pray and hope that nothing will come out of this.

Stay tuned,
