One needs to identify & shortlist students/candidates who have the right mix of curiosity, inquisitiveness, zest for learning & quick grasping power to align them for study trip, students exchange program of such social activity forum....remember during our school days, we used to have debate competition...from the entire 30 batch class...only 1 or 2 classmates - rankers would be chosen to be representatives of the class for the class....rest would be content to stand in the assembly line & hear them and clap or pass caustic comment when the boy or girl would forget their lines ( mostly it was speech by rote ) but moving onto higher classes....these same students who would have stumbled in their speech...were able to get it not just right but enjoyable..with little humor thrown in as also some good and gripping anecdotes...during those times neither computers nor Google were there for Help..so it was the peers and parents and also the teachers who helped the participants prepare their speech...rehearse them... I had mentored my cousin in Mumbai...when working on my first job and staying with an uncle & aunt...helping out the extra bit with mentoring their children...till today....my cousins whom I mentored...( all are overseas ) have a special bonding with me....the same bonding develops between students & teachers too...

Modern Selection process involves Group Discussion as also stress interviews...and impromptu speech on any topic under the sun...this is where I have seen many students fumble, falter...have misery written all over their face...the little tips from teachers and attempt at speech would have gone a long way in increasing the confidence of the aspirants.

Our Education system...has undergone a little change perhaps but as it was then...it continues today also...to nurture only those who make a conscious effort to participate in activities and exorcise the demon of public speaking which so much scares all candidates. The start as to be taken at the school level itself in terms of confidence building.

Warm Regards,

Overseas study trip, student exchange program or inclusion of subject like international business/global marketing etc but result is not at all encouraging...............

How a curriculum can be developed to nurture this among management students?
