Re: What If Biya Appointed Fru Ndi, and All Other ‘Opposants’?

Mr. Akoson you ran for Parliament on your freewill and what if you won? So, why are you always trying to inject regional divide into something that we  have no control over? Only Biya knows what he is doing and you should not think that just because he does it means everyone is pleased with his actions. Many of  us don't want to live in a country where there is regional hatred and prejudice. We desire a country of national unity, regional balance and territorial integrity . Don' t be moved by the actions of a dictator because if I am the one I won't be playing such games. Cameroon is a nation of many tribes and regions. However, appointments of Ministers which is the prerogative of the President and Prime Minister working together should be based on merits . However, regional balance should also be factored into the decision making process because in every region we have more than enough qualified entities for every single ministry. It is important that you understand that I do not subscribe to the politics of Biya, which you have subscribed to and got disappointed.

Thanks

Almost EVERY ONE on the list is BAMENDROUS (aka Mishe Fon)!
That's why some of us are very careful about this independence thing! Shegeh!

Effective, efficient and rigorous training does not constitute issuing subservient roles; rather, it involves sitting side by side on the round table for law, policy and decision making and thorough brainstorming on the normative values that undergird progressive issues. Ayah Paul of PAP takes great pleasure in working with the youths. I am proud to work with him..." Akoson A. Raymond.

What If Biya Appointed Fru Ndi, and All Other 'Opposants'?

Looking at October 2 Cabinet shakeup, the general observation is that the same Ministers have been serving in same or similar capacity since Mr Biya took over power in 1982.

We know also that since that advent of multiparty politics in Cameroon, there are political party leaders who have been clamouring to succeed President Paul Biya through the ballot box but in vain.

But for Belo Bouba Maigara of the UNDP (current Minister of Tourism and Leisure) and Dakole Daissala (one time Minister of Transport) who had declared themselves as being of the 'Presidential Majority' whatever that means….there are other opposition party leaders/or considered such.
In addition to 'opposants' there are other Cameroonians at home and abroad who can bring in new blood and ideas to the government which is already running short of energy and focus, who could be appointed.
In that way, Cameroonians would have been able to appreciate the contribution and criticism of 'opposants' to the regime through their being in office. And it would have also given a chance to others to contribute to build our country and not a 'selected' few who have been there and the country is continuously sinking...

I think the President would have or should appoint the following persons and personalities:
Prime Minister: Ni John Fru Ndi
Minister of Justice: Barrister Nico Halle
Minister of Territorial Administration- Dr Christopher Fomunyoh
Minister of Higher Education- Prof Patrice Nganang
Minister of External Relations- Patrice Nouma
Minister of Transport- Ekane Anicet
Minister of Women's Empowerment and Family- Edith Kah walla
Minister of Econ, Planning and Regional Development-Hon Jean Michel Nintcheu
Chairman National Commission for Human Rights and Freedoms- Madeline Afite
Ministry of Culture- Bonaventure Tchucham
Minister of Industries Mines and Technological Development-Jean Jacques Ekindi-
Minister Delegate in-Charge of Penitentiary Administration: Paul Eric Kingue
Minister of Environment and Nature Protection-Peirre Fritz Ngoh
Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation – Prof Elisabeth Tamanjong-
Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms- Tar Nfar Lucas Fon
Ministry of Tourism and Leisure… Chief Mila Assoute
Ministry of Public Health - Vincent Sosthene Fouda
Minister of Communication- Boh Herbert
Minister of Post and Telecommunication- Pah Kenneth Fru Ndeh

Observe that I left out Ministries of Finance and Defense, prerogatives to the President, in a way that he would not say they would steal money or take power by force. Since he has never given Cameroonians the chance to choose those to govern them.

It would have been better for them to be appointed and then they turn down the offer than for Cameroonians to be hearing of the same names for almost four decades now.

In this way Mr Biya would be able to say 'I appointed them and see what they did…' . He would also have an opportunity to maybe jail some of his 'opposants' whom would attempt to steal.

NB: This is fiction and just the thought of a Cameroonian and should not be taken for real. You can appoint whosoever you want!

The debate is open...
