Re: [MTC Global] [Weekend Big Discussion-I] What is the biggest issue facing you in the work that you do?

Its all administrative /clerical work given to the Teaching faculty and and evaluatig on the Research at the end of the year. If one cannot sit for few hours for research work, what could be output expected ......

Every so called reputed B'Schools and universitites are using this model of operandi.....

Don't they recruit one dedicated clerical officer for these jobs ?

They will get output in terms of Quality of delivery and research if faculty gets proper tie for his duties...

In my earlier assignment in a reputed B-School in Delhi though I was Heading the Placement with 2 more executives under me, the management gave me additional responsibility of marketing their FDP's, EDP's & Conclave where their logic was we would anyway be expanding our corporate connections but this was also an area which brought additional money for the Institute besides enabling them to increase their  TRP's as a leading institute where not just faculties get scope to share their knowledge but also corporate executives could benefit from expertise of the faculty. And there was a line up of EDP and FDP putting onus of conducting it on faculties stream wise marking up calendar and my focus was shifted from Placement to marketing. My team members were at sea with no proper guidelines from management on their work and they were relegated to just being tele-callers following up on the list of over 1000 corporates bifurcated between them. Though we know our work areas and we can do it without bidding yet the management by putting additional functional responsibilities made the task difficult as we were held accountable even for the corporate follow up besides following up for the programs and events.
