Folk musician, Doc Watson, died yesterday. This morning, NPR had a 5 and a half minute story on him and his life. Where else would you hear a story, as in depth, as this? I saw Doc and his son, Merle, play in Atlanta, back in '73 or '74, at the Southeast Music Hall. We sat on the floor with a bucket of beer, listening to them play as they sat on wooden chairs, surrounded on three sides by the audience. It was very up close and personal, a wonderful night of music.
