Dear Manyu sons and daughters,
The current happenings in Manyu is so deeply inextricably linked to politics. And if we were seriouse about thrashing this matter and support our people, we must be bold enough to trace the root cause of this problem. What vexes me so much deep down my marrows is the fact that since this whole thing started, those Manyu politicians who, during election time come to the people and manipulate them have shown them TRUE LOVE by distancing themselves from what is happening. How would the legitimate representatives of the people sit on their hands before such brazen political genocide!
Just immagine a scenario where all the three parliamentarians and four mayors of Manyu with the support of our cutural custodians came out, stood with and by the people and denounced such brutal and cruel acts meted against their people! The reverse is true: our political leaders have instead sided with Biya's brutal CPDM regime while our people, with no support, drop their tails between their legs and take refuge under their beds -- living in terror everyday with no freedom whatsoever. If we cannot feel safe in our own homeland, the land of our forefathers and ancestors, where would we feel free and safe? Buea? Yaounde? Nkongsamba?
And then the worse of it: even some of our learned brothers and sisters abroad who enjoy the full dividends of democracy and freedom ask us at home to refuse to acknowledge that this whole problem in Manyu is politically motivated. The Manyu problem, whether all else refuse to acknowledge, is CPDM! And they MUST go this time ... I so do swear with all my strength!
I congratulate the likes of Sessekou Ebini and Rev. Dr. Hamilton Ayuk for siding with the truth! God bless you, sirs.
Could someone abroad volunteer to create a preparedness on ways to exhaust all legal means to bring justice? In the meantime, the case between Ako Abunaw of PAP and Col. Mvoggo (a man notorious for intimidating the people of Manyu) will be heard tomorrow, June the 7th. Manyu People are planning to come out in their numbers to witness the justice or injustice. The Manyu sons and daughters and their division will never know or taste the fruits of justice and freedom if they do not politically and collectively rise up and condemn an unjust and evil government that has abused and taken them for a political joke since Paul Biya and the CPDM came to power. The time for shallow self serving and empty pestering as civil and moral talkers must be over for our division. If we should allow the blood of this young man go in vain because we are afraid to politicize a politically warranted e execution, then we are a people not deserving of justice and freedom. We all know that even the CPDM elites in our midst will continue to condone the killings of our people if we let them. There is a time for everything. The traumatizing photographs of the brother killed in Besongabang are a real wake-up call in terms of free speech and police brutality to all of Cameroon. The nonchalance and brazenness of this rogue criminal gendarmerie officer should not be a call to divide the daughters and sons of Manyu along political party lines.This shameful incidence should not be politicized, but should be a call for all Manyu citizens and well wishers to support the memorial or legal defense fund that Mr. Tabenyang announced will be set up consequently.We can not offer this young innocent victim justice with name calling and finger pointing, but rather seek justice by providing resources for an excellent legal team to be put in place. We should be calling on all Manyu citizens to pour in their support, no matter how small, for justice to prevail.Since our objectives is to seek justice for this innocent victim, let us make decisions based on our objectives and criteria, not on relationships.
