[MTC Global] Guru Purnima

Dear MTCians,
Guru Purnima is the day for expressing our gratitude to our Guru / Teacher / Coach / Mentor or anybody from whom we have learnt.

It is also celebrated  as Vedvyas Jayanti the compiler of knowledge and creator of Knowledge Bank like Vedas.

It is an auspicious day to make a beginning for learning, adoption of a Guru, pay Gratitude / Guru Dakshina. Classes of Performing Arts like Music, Dance etc start from today,

Guru – Gu means Darkness and Ru means Light – A person who leads us from darkness / ignorance to light of knowledge.

Guru Gita – Gita means Body of Knowledge. Guru Gita means Body of Knowledge describing about Guru, Types of Gurus, Identification and Selection of Guru etc. This knowledge was imparted first time by Bhagwan Shiva to Devi  Parvati for the benefit of masses.

In modern context the definition can be :

'I am not a teacher – only a fellow traveler of whom you asked the path, I pointed ahead – ahead of myself as well as of you.' - George Bernard Shaw.

For the modern generation this day can be celebrated as Mentor Day. They can select their mentor on this auspicious day. With vast knowledge base multiple mentors can be selected say for Work Life, Technical Knowledge, Career Management or anything.
MTCians should develop culture of Guru Purnima among students.
Regards.
