So says the minister of Finance. Alamine Ousman yesterday said the givernment had taken measures to ensure funds are available for customers and civil servants especially whose salaries are transfered to Fiffa. It is reported that he granted audience to top military and defence officers in Yaounde. Soldiers in Cameroon constitute a good chunk of the customers of Fiffa. The angry soldiers have for more than once threatened to' blow off' some Fiffa agencies in Akwa Douala. Unable to have their salaries or savings. Curiously, the Finance Minister did not explain what was happening to Fiffa to cause govt to step in. Is it because soldiers are so involved? Curiously again Fiffa still advertises on some TV Stations! Since Cofinest ran into trouble, customers have been unable to withraw their savings. After Cofinest, Fiffa which microfinancial institution is next? Solomon Amabo A. Journalist, Deputy Editor-in-Chief Equinox Radio/Television P.R.O.
