Cameroon Government Fonctionaries are in the United States at Tax Payers expense on a so-called "Cameroon Investment Partnership Mission" and Cameroonians are informed less than two days before the commencement of the said "MISSION" by a Political Operative Private citizen not officially affiliated to the Cameroon Government. If the Government was really serious in involving the Diaspora in this "VENTURE", I believe this information could have been chanelled via OFFICIAl medium at the Cameroon Embassy dubbed "The Communication Department" headed by trained and well paid Journalists). This TRADE MISSION was not planned over-night and these officials are not in the United States for a pleasure trip or vacation. Why then were Cameroon Diaspora Businesses not informed officially and in a timely manner? Does the Cameroon Embassy in Washington DC acknowledge the existence of Cameroon "Non Political" Groups and Business entities like, the Cameroon Professional Society (CPS), the ACCDF, the Washington DC chapter of Cameroon Healthcare Agencies and Contractors, the Cameroon Association of Engineers, Medical Doctors, Lawyers, University Professors, Association of Pharmacists, Association of Nurses, Cultural Groups and other individual entrepreneurs? Why is the Cameroon Government so distrustful of its own citizens abroad? What did Cameroonians do wrong to their own Government to deserve this level of disdain and resentment? Is the Cameroon Embassy not supposed to promote the interest of Cameroon and Cameroonians? This is very very STRANGE. If we sincerely want a bright future for our country, both the Governed and the Government are supposed to show respect for each other. There is nothing wrong in learning from other African siccess stories like Ethiopia, Ghana, Senegal, Nigeria, Rwanda whose PRESIDENTS, Prime Ministers and Ministers consider "THEIR" Diaspora as part and parcel of their Development Agenda. The US State Department has been repeating this theme for the past several years.
Franchement, je n,arrive pas a comprendre notre Gouvernement.
