MS(CS) Fall 2012 Course Selection   All MS(CS) students are required to select their courses for the Fall 2012 semester from the following list of courses, and email their selected courses atmscs_courseselection@vu.edu.pk till Monday, i.e., 1st October, 2012. Please note, students who are required to study prerequisites course must select required prerequisite courses first. A student who has completed 21 MS level credit hours of course work with a CGPA not less than 2.75 can enroll MS thesis.   Fall 2012 Semester Courses Course Code Course Title Pre Requisite Credit Hours Specialization CS710 Mobile and Pervasive Computing CS610 3 Computer Networks CS718 Wireless Networks CS610 3 Computer Networks CS723   Probability and Stochastic Processes MTH101 MTH301 STA301 MTH401 3 Computer Networks CS706 Software Quality Assurance CS504 3 Software Engineering CS709 Formal Methods for Software Engineering MTH202 CS504 3 Software Engineering CS701 Theory of Computing MTH202 CS402 3 Core CS702 Advanced Algorithm Analysis and Design CS502 CS301 3 Core CS712 Distributed DBMS (Not available to students who are starting their MS(CS) in Fall 2012 semester) CS403 CS610 3 Core CS720 Thesis   6 Core   General Rules   1.      A student can only enroll a course if he/she has taken pre-requisites for that particular course. 2.      A student can improve a 'C' or 'D' grade in a course only once. 3.      A student can only select subjects from a pool of subjects that is being offered in current semester. 4.      In a single semester, a student can enroll 4 MS subjects, i.e. 12 MS level credit hours.       Degree Requirements   To get the MS(CS) degree a student is required to take four courses from his/her area of specialization, four core courses, and a research-based thesis.   Commencement of Classes Please note that Fall 2012 semester will start from 15th October, 2012.    Regards Aniqa MAlik www.vuzs.net The Coward dies a thousand deaths,  the Valiant, only once!
