v As a Software QA Engineer, you will be working on validating client's backup, storage, and security appliances for small/medium to large enterprise customers. v Plan and execute test plans for scalable enterprise level backup, storage, security appliances that involve feature, system, performance and regression testing. v Developing and running new feature tests and regression tests of appliances in a wide range of scenarios. v Performing qualification and integration tests against new product introductions. v Working with groups (hardware and software) for test development tasks and supporting investigations and resolution of issues from our customers. v Writing or modifying test scripts or programs with use of the Perl or Python programming language. v Analyze, report and resolve system-level software related issues that cross multiple engineering teams.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
ü 4+ years of hands-on QE experience and/or BS/MS in CS/EE. ü Experience in performance testing in complex storage related products is preferred. ü Experience in validating enterprise class storage products built using NAS, SAN. ü Good understanding of LAN/WAN architectures, topologies, protocols, and performance characterization in Data Backups in LAN/WAN & Fiber channel setups . ü Technical Skills in the following areas: High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Backup and Recovery concepts. Experience with storage hardware configuration such as servers, storage array and tape drive libraries. Clustering/replication technologies, disk and tape backup methodologies ü Experience in testing Netbackup Software, Symantec PureDisk (Deduplication Disk), VERITAS File System (VxFS), VERITAS Volume manager ( VxVM) and related IO performance in these areas is a plus. ü Working knowledge of RAID, SAS, SATA, SSD, and disk drive subsystems. ü Working knowledge in networking protocols and architecture. ü Solid working knowledge of Linux and Windows systems. ü Background in scripting in Perl, Python or similar languages. ü Ability to analyze complex system engineering issues including debugging at the hardware, firmware, and driver levels. ü Good technical skills balance with commitment for strong quality products. ü Ability to drive technical issues to a root cause and document results. ü Good technical skills balance with commitment for strong quality products. ü Strong knowledge of QA process and methodology. |
