| # Positions | We need Sr. Windows Engineers will be involved in design, install, configure, manage, and support technical components within the server hosting environment.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Project Delivery Support the project manager in defining the work and the associated effort, duration, and resource needs to deliver the solution. Communicate status to the project manager to provide completion status of assigned tasks, estimate to complete for remaining effort, and associated issues/risks. Based on defined technical requirements and architecture blueprints work with a cross-functional team to develop the Windows detailed design and associated Windows specifications as part of an overall solution design. Deploy and configure the open systems components per the detailed design. Document test cases, perform operational readiness testing to ensure the open systems environment performs as required and document actual results. Create proper knowledge transfer documentation and runbooks of environment (based on project requirements and design/build criteria) and conduct knowledge and ownership of environment to Client Operations team.
General system administration: Create / modify / delete file systems Shutdown / reboot systems Stop / start operating system services and tools Edit system configuration files (network settings, service configuration files) Develop scripts to automate administrative activities (Level 3 only) Update scripts based on system changes Deploy new operating systems (based on approved standards) and associated system tools (configure new operating systems per design specifications) Upgrade systems and associated system tools and apply patches to systems and associated system tools Deploy/upgrade firmware General system troubleshooting: Analyze system log files Analyze application log files Using system diagnostic tools to monitor/understand system performance(process, storage space, CPU utilization, memory utilization) Support application deployment on systems: Make system specific configurations to support application installation Install 3rd party software that requires elevated privileges typically not available to application teams Execute scripts/programs to support application installation Assist teams with troubleshooting software and network issues Migrate systems (from one physical server to another): Analyze current system to understand system settings/configurations Copy system configurations from one physical server to another physical server Copy file systems from one server to another server (all file systems) Perform operational readiness testing Migrate storage Copy date from one server to another server (all file systems)
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Information Systems or related field |
