Re: Fw: [cameroon_politics] Hungry Fons have desecrated their thrones

The only sensible thing Fru Ndi said is regarding the need to revise traditional institutions. They no longer serve the purpose they were intended for. You don't maintain an institution just because of "culture".

Subject: [cameroon_politics] Hungry Fons have desecrated their thrones

CameroonPostline.com -- SDF National Chairman, John Fru Ndi, has said despite desperate attempts by President Biya to kill the party, it is still waxing strong. Fru Ndi said the party has put in place an alternative government and programmes to bring Cameroonians out of misery.
Fru Ndi: SDF Chairman

"If I were so gullible like some of my Mayors and Parliamentarians, we could have long joined Government. I could have fought and entered parliament; that could have announced the end of the SDF. Where are the other political parties that joined Government some years back?
What have these people of bad faith not proposed to me within these 22 years? I have remained resolute that SDF will take over this country and execute its programme, not to join Biya," the SDF Chair said. He made the statement while addressing the executive of the Baibo Electoral District of the SDF who came to congratulate him on his re-election at his Ntarinkon residence last weekend.

He praised Batibo militants for graduating from politics of vengeance, which he said was characterised by self-destruction and rancour. Fru Ndi advised them to close ranks and get every potential voter registered. Appealing to his militants to be vigilant, Fru Ndi warned any Fons of Batibo who use their belonging to the CPDM Central Committee to frustrate civil servants who militate in the SDF, to desist or they will be exposed.

"Hungry Fons have desecrated their thrones and are prepared to grab any franc and shout that they are behind Biya," he said. He wondered where the dignity of the Fons have gone to when Fons today shake hands easily with women and can be seen everywhere at occasions fighting over food with commoners. Fru Ndi suggested that traditional institutions should be revised else the worst that is still to come will be too soon.

Earlier, the Batibo Electoral District Chairman, Maurice Werewum Mbah, told Fru Ndi that they are solidly behind him, because, according to them, he is a leader of a political party that remains a source of hope to Cameroonians. He said due to the dynamism and the open-door policy of the leadership of the SDF in Batibo, young people, elites and civil servants keep joining the party.

"It is due to the swelling of our ranks by this influential class of people that the panic-stricken and confused leadership of the collapsing CPDM in Batibo have resorted to intimidation and transfer tactics, which were used in the 90s. Their intention is to frustrate committed militants and discourage especially civil servants from militating in the SDF party," Werewum said.

Biya will not kill the SDF but Fru Ndi will. Mr Chairman, you want to revive your party, step aside after being chairman for 22 years. Seems Biya is only 8 years ahead.

Mike is absolutely right. The Chairman is SDF's Achilles heels.he is the one killing the SDF.Mr Chairman, you are gullible, this is evident in your romance with the corrupt cpdm you claim to be fighting against.it seems the chairman is in a dream world,or getting everything wrong.how can he say the party is waxing on strong when they have lost so many seats in parliament in their own backyard.he should wake up and smell the coffee.they have young and dynamic human resources in the party like Joshua Osih, who can run the party.

Granted that being the main challenger to Biya,Biya should do all in his might to destroy the SDF.However,I don't think SDF's overall recent dismay strength is upto Biya. In my modest opinion,Fru Ndi and his party lack the ability to strategize in the face of adversity. The first opposition party in Cameroon should always do its best to be at least 1 step ahead of Biya and his party.Unfortunately, what I see is that the future is not taken into consideration in the SDF reason for its consistent dismal performances. To claim the SDF is waxing strong is doubtful when I compare it with SDF of yesteryears.

Change is not always good like some of you think. I can assure you that Fru Ndi is the main reason we are still talking about the SDF as the only veritable opposition party. Can you imagine having the former North West party head (Kum Henry) as SDF national chiarman? There are others, the Ben Muna, you name them. The fact that Fru Ndi has remained steadfast to the core values of the party warrant that he continues. I do not see any problem with that. My two cents...

Fru Ndi you have killed the SDF. The day you started taking money from Biya for your personal needs and bronze statues you nailed the coffin on the SDF. You can't curse out Biya for stealing and turn around and take money from him without questioning the source of that handout. You can't accuse Biya of undemocratic behavior and at same time every action of yours is no different. What are you still doing as chairman of SDF for 22 years and with such pathetic performance for that matter? Apparently the old man is living on Mars or talking about another SDF if he still thinks the party is waxing strong. In fact elsewhere Fru Ndi would have been kicked out. When a soccer team fails to qualify for a competition the coach gets fired. When a company fails to reach its goals the CEO quits. In Cameroon Iya Mohamed stays put even as the Lions have become a laughing stock,Biya remains with a team of bandits called ministers while the country deteriorates. Fru Ndi receives motion of support.

When the Ivorian crisis erupted, Cameroonians marched in Cameroon but dont march when it comes to their own issues.Cameroon has a problem which is biya and we all know except chom from balikumbat, but some of us spend months and years complaining of fru ndi who is a mere political party chairperson. Some are asking him to step aside and if he does what will change in Cameroon but if biya gone, we all know except chom. I would have also wished for you guys to ask Jacques Chirac who was head of his party for close to 25 yrs to step aside or Alpha Konde who was chairperson of his party for 40 yrs to step aside. Why can't Ndam Njoya step aside. Ben Muna waged a war against fru ndi then left form alliance for progress which stuck in between his two long legs and now the mouth is shut. Chom will it be wrong for you to go onseat fru ndi and create the miracle or are u too small to be president of Cameroon.Focus on yr job in the US and stop singing fru ndi

Jacques Toubon so Jacques Cirac is your mentor? Then I see where you are coming from. What an example!!! Take note he did not call anyone who resigned from his party somebody he pulled from the gutters and spoons-fed like Fru Ndi did. Jacques Chirac produced results. If anything Fru Ndi's result is that of failure any way you look at it.You too may play the Charles Ndongo.Truth is like vapor. No matter how tight you close the lid it finds its way out. Toubon I thought you would challenge my points above how Fru Ndi has killed the party. Truths too bitter for you to swallow. The Ndam Njoyas, Ben Munas etc you cited did not take money from Biya while pretending to oppose him at the same time. Cameroonians did not lose jobs and lives because of them. That is why Fru Ndi must be held accountable more than anyone else.
