2012... What a year!
Now that 2012 is behind us, it's always fun to look back and see the things that we've accomplished in the last year and look forward to new goals for 2013.
2012 was a year of tremendous growth for ACE! Thanks to our partnership with RPM Marketing, we continued to expand upon programs like "A Soldier's Smile" and the ACE/RPM Marketing Platform. Both have been instrumental in spreading the word about ACE to the general public while helping veterans receive much needed dental care; and helping doctors to promote their practices and be more profitable. The "A Soldier's Smile" program was recently awarded a grant from WalMart that will assist in getting dental help to even more veterans in need.
Thanks to Rustin Savarese and RPM Marketing, our ACE websites got a much-needed makeover to make them more user-friendly; we introduced a new way for doctors to save money on supplies & equipment with ACE Dental Shopper; and in June we said "goodbye" to our old email network and "hello" to our new online community, ACE Dental World! Initially, the change was met with some resistance, which was expected since the email network was like an old friend that allowed many of us the opportunity to share information freely for over 10 years. Through persistence and our ongoing efforts, the transition to the new format is gaining acceptance and many find it easier to keep up with conversations and search for useful information. In addition, to help make the transition easier, ACE/RPM introduced the first in the industry Smartphone Apps to allow ACE members to have constant access to their colleagues on ACE Dental World wherever they may be. Our members are finding it easy to "stay connected" and keep the exchange of ideas going!
We had two amazing events in 2012. The 2nd ACE Conference on Social Media & Marketing for Dentistry Event in March brought some timely marketing information to attendees, and many of the doctors attending that event found increased success by implementing the ideas & strategies shared at the meeting. In October, the ACE Annual Event Mastermind Session was held at the beautiful Hawks Cay Resort in Florida. This was a unique, first-of-its-kind format where participants learned information from keynote speakers and then were encouraged to share ideas in real time with their colleagues in an interactive mastermind session! The format was extremely successful and we've decided to make it part of our annual events for the foreseeable future.
ACE also said "hello" to some new faces and "goodbye" to some old ones. Alan Abdo joined the ACE team to help us with advertising sales. He brings his enthusiasm and passion for life & dentistry to our organization and we're looking forward to some great things from Alan. Jackie Hopkins is no longer with ACE and we wish her well in the future. Our core group of Tim Hale, Anthony Vocaturo, Pete Maroon, Tom Hedge & yours truly still remain. We also have the help of Kelly Kunkel and the expertise of Rustin Savarese. In addition, the ACE Board features several "well-known" colleagues who are all working hard to keep ACE on the forefront of dentistry. Thanks to Rick Coker, Gary Radz, Tony Soileau, Curtis Westersund, Brian McKay, Ray Voller, Debbie Reiner, Kathy Frazar, Marvin Berlin, Mac Lee, Jim Arnold, Trent Smallwood, Peter Boulden, Walter Kostrzewski and Jim Hill for volunteering their time and offering great ideas & suggestions!
As we move on in 2013, I would especially like to thank you, our ACE Members and Sponsors for all that you do on a daily basis to help our organization improve. We are here for you... and because of you and we'll never forget that! Some of our goals for 2013 are to improve ACE Dental World and introduce many new folks to the great community we have at ACE.
