Steve,

Thanks for the email. Yes I am passionate and I respect your position but
you are 2% of what exists in dental practices worldwide. The fact is most
are so busy with quadrant dentistry that they don't even begin to consider
anything besides what is in front of them. This has value to you no doubt
and an investment that made sense but it doesn't to most others. To be a
mouth doctor is a whole different animal than being a dentist and I think it
is fair to say that we are all at some level trying to become that doctor.

Not sure your investment makes sense to the normal GP office and that was my
point. For those offices the $165K would be better used elsewhere. That is
just my opinion.

Thanks for telling me what I mean Shahin. I'm just trying to let people know
how CBCT is helping me in MY practice.
I just paid $165K for my NewTom from Dick Greenan. Maybe he gave me a great
deal, but he offered the price to everyone who took the TMJ Mini-Residency.
If someone is considering buying a digital Pano can we assume that it would
be around $65K (more for Pan/Ceph)? If so, the DIFFERENCE in price is $100K.
And you are right, this money could be spent somewhere else if I person felt
they could better serve their patients and/or get a better ROI.
In my practice, which is heavy in TMJ, Airway, reconstruction and ortho, the
CBCT is a no-brainer. It is very effective in immediately showing actual
structural reasons to treat. It is even a better tool for second opinions. I
show the joints, airway, etc and say to the patient something like "I'm sure
you've seen all this before in your previous consults....blah blah" and what
do you think the patient says??
Shahin, I really do appreciate your passion. I see you as a guy who cares a
lot about dentistry...am I right? :-) You may just want to consider asking a
question or two before you start throwing out your counter points. To me,
that come across as more friendly....and you would be a great guy to have as
a friend ;-)

Steve

$210,000 is what you mean Steve. Not sure it wouldnt be better to get a new
office for that price. In 7 years you can have the office paid for and about
$500K in equity plus a Annual net from the practice. Where do you put your
money?

CBCT blows the Pano out of the water!! I can't believe how much easier it is
to sell comprehensive procedures when the patient can actually view their
joint and airway issues. Before I had my NewTom I was always trying to
convince the patients that they COULD have a problem. That was not very
effective.
Call Dick Greenan about a 7 year lease to own program. Mac, for you, you
will pay about $2500 a month for 7 years and then it will be "free"
for the last 20 or so years that you practice!!

My frond office just called yesterday and told me that
we had another subpoena from the coroner for radiographs. Seems
one of our patients was a drug dealer and someone threw hin down
a dry well with 100 gallons plue of gasoline. They did not
remember him but I've been seeing him off and on for 30 plus
years. Had a lot of dentistry so they ID'd him
immediately...xrayed him at the hospital...now crime lab has him. Take that
panorex and you want be embarrassed with they come and you have to tell them
you have no radiographs.

When I was in the military in 1969 we had a panorex at the
clinic and everyone got a pan, including the dental officers.
The quality was horrendously bad compared to today's machines but
all they wanted them for was to ID bodies. It was gruesome but
functional. Guy
