Re: [cameroon_politics] Police,Soldiers Clash in Douala Feb 1 2013

Brother Solomon,
The happening in the Douala area is not unconnected to the fact that there shall be continuous confusion in their camp. You will remember in this forum my declaration that the BIR who are now priding themselves as most favoured, will soon have problems with the rest of the security forces and Bia will not be able quell the situation as a result of Prayers that have been rendered in that direction to the captors camp. It is still and is continuously the manifestation of the first prison sentence which states that: CONFUSION OF FACES IN THEIR CAMP, SHALL BE THEIR PORTION.

Your watchful info is highly appreciated. Thanks Rev(Papa) Taku-Ayuk

Subject: [cameroon_politics] Police,Soldiers Clash in Douala Feb 1 2013

The casualties cannot be fully established for now but the Governor of the Region is very angry with top Defence and security officials and has called on them to instruct their surbordinates to exercise restrain.

Governor Joseph Beti Assomo is a stern statement issued today warns that the attitude of defence forces( he recounted how soldiers earlier beat up locals in Japoma on the outskirts of Douala) does not reassure the locals about their security. He set up a commision and gave it up to Feb 5 to present to him both human and material casualties and propose sanctions.

The Clash

Trouble started in the PK 10 area in Doual when a soldier in mufti had a misunderstanding with a worker at a filling station over the reimbursement of money to the said soldier. A fight then ensued. According to Beti Assomo, in an attempt to calm down the situation patroling police officers asked the soldier and the population  to leave the trouble zone. In vain

The latter is reported to have called for reinforcement. Consequence: a free for all fight between soldiers and policemen. the Governor said one or more gunshots were heard and that he was keeping the images of those involved.

Mr Asomo says he has informed MINADT, MINDEF and DGNS.
