In the SCAM community, this does raise a couple of cautions:
  1. "If I give you enough tests I'll find something to treat" syndrome.
  2. Choosing tests that tend to give results favorable to the practitioners preferred treatment modality.  
So there is a dark side to the holy grail of testing.   

Remember that parlor trick used a couple of decades back to convince you you need all your amalgams ripped out immediately  - having you hold a jar of mercury and convincing you it was giving off arm-weakening rays through the glass?
