Man, it is really tough for me to read stuff like this Debbie but Dallas is full of fantastic medical facilities. Having said that, you find out where the best is and go there. Sloan Kettering has a great pediatric program but it is in NY. MD Anderson is a great facility in Houston. Most of these places have locations for families to stay, if not free, at a minimal price. St. Jude is in Memphis and of course you have heard of it. You simply look for the absolute best place for a child for this type of stuff. Amputation is standard but it is life that you are concerned about. In Georgia it would be Egleston-Aidmore at Emory. Most of these places are using the same protocol unless you get into some outside research program. They will be in our prayers. You always wonder as a parent and grandparent…why should this be my child…why couldn’t it have been me? But as the minister said at my grandson’s funeral…this is not for us to say. God did not mean for this to happen to this child. It is just part of the natural order of things or a horrible accident. God Bless.

Our nephew, his wife and 2 boys (infant and toddler) just moved to Dallas. Long story made short...he went to ER with knee problems....tumor...cancer (possibly sarcoma)....amputation suggested. If anyone in Dallas could suggest a orothopedic oncologist I would forever be greatful...if not..please pray. Thank you, Debbie
