Re: **Pan-Cameroonism is always in action! **^Pan-Cameroonism must be considered our number ONE ENEMY. And as a consequence Pan-Cameroonism must be confronted with a pre-determined and conscious strategy.

EDWIN,

Your arguments against Pan-Cameroonism is very convincing. However, you and me cannot sit here and with a stroke of the pen announce to the rest of the world that our name has been changed to "Ambazonia." The point is that no one would take us seriously. Name change would happen when we are controlling even 1 km sq of our land. Our parliament would then debate a change of name. Any name  change would have to ensure from a list of proposed names. Each of the names would carry with it a significance, and we can make an informed choice. There is no guarantee that we would stick with Ambazonia. A lot of people presently use Federal Republic of Southern Cameroons. I think that this tells that it is a country
The UN knows it so well that this world body actually presented a map of of the Southern Cameroons to the President of
LRC.

Thanks Mr. Gerard Best for re-echoing what is much needed but still lacking in the emancipation quest. That we find the 'best platform' where we can do  'concrete things' that would "measurably" move the struggle forward! There are three interwoven variables here: the principle of 'best platform', must seek 'concrete action' that will be subject to "program measures. If a chosen avenue don't work, it will be so noted and promptly adjusted.

Yes ACTION is what we all want.

**I humbly suggest we "bite only what we can chew" ! There are those who talk of "zero-sum gaming" they know nothing about at best or care to investigate its requiems at worst!!
**I humbly suggest the DIASPORA take on this struggle as if the entire "thing" rested on their shoulders. The people at home need our protection which will come the louder our noise making is heard in all the capitals of the world.
** I humbly suggest we declare full WAR on pan-Cameroonism by adopting PRE-independence identity of Ambazonia. We have for so long been drifting rudderless in this turbulent sea of pan-Cameroonia.

Yes, while only very few read the Internet in the territory does not mean we can not fight and defeat Pan- Cameroonism now TODAY in the diaspora.

Is it not bane of our emancipation quest that even when the diaspora  as you said "are sufficiently sensitized about most of these issues", this diaspora has done nothing but allow pan- Caneroonism to continue its havoc unchallenged?

-- in the WDC metropolis pan- Cameroonism have taken over the show. It's fashionable to hangout under the cover of the apolitical cultural with the ACCF ( All Cameroon Cultural festival ). As they surmise its just about that innocuous promotion of our ethnic heritage. WRONG -/ in life everything matter!
-- in Minneapolis MINCAM is replicating the same show ACCF is about.. There is more in pan-Cameroonia-- It is  everywhere anyone associated with the name "Cameroon" operated!

But we in the emancipation quest think its does not matter. We even attend and energetically participate in these so called  benign "cultural activities"!

Yes..We all want action:

I implore all comrades to imitate what the Bakassi Ambazonians have done. It's the kind of action we can execute to full throttle in no time and beat back pan-Cameroonism.  It is about us!

We will not be all "talk and no action" if we all resolve to "Stand our Grounds" as Ambazonians -/ \ in this sovereignty-based universe we will tell the world that Cameroon is illegally and forcibly occupying our country. This in the eyes of the international community as an "act of selfs-determination" will be the most vivid way for all Ambazonians to rebel against the oppressive pan-Cameroonian system called Cameroon and get the world to recognize us.

Activists like to complain that their rights of self- determination as Southern Cameroonians was denied them in 1961. Please can we move on past this perpetual "entrapment" by virtue of the default acquiescence accusation? Are we not at this moment FULLY represented in the Cameroonian government with the most famous of our politicians, Fru Ndi engaging  Biya in bilateral talks and that new 'Senatorial' thing to be? The world reads that as us having "acquiesced" unless, ofcourse we in the emancipation quest were to bring something completely different than the current processes that have nothing to do with our BEST and STRONGEST argument ever. The argument of "our sovereignty" recovered when Biya's led Restoration  Law 84/01 rendered extinct the original basis of our union with the French Cameoon republic. This is a fact of our history. This is the Truth  that inspired the Bakassi Ambazonians to adopt the Republic of Ambazonia without any prodding from any one!!!  Read below and tell others about this way forward as the basis of an "action" we can live with and hang on without faltering.

This is a good piece. It shows how much research you have done to come up with this piece. It is informative and also tries to appeal to the sentiments od Southern Cameroonians. I think that those of us living in the diaspora are sufficiently sensitized about most of these issues. I want to suggest that the people inside the territory should be the ones to heavily look at these issues and then see what can be done. However, you have decided to be writting on Pan Cameroonism. This is good, but I think that you can also spice it some other thing that can move people. Action...Action...Action...It is getting to "Quarter To"

Subject: **Pan-Cameroonism is always in action! **^Pan-Cameroonism must be considered our number ONE ENEMY. And as a consequence Pan-Cameroonism must be confronted with a pre-determined and conscious strategy.

FACT: The Cameroonian francophone majority have had over 60 years of head start promoting their  "State-sponsored" pre-determined assimilationist programs inside Ambazonia. In doubt ...??
(1) Then take time off, go to the Library of Congress, ask for the archival notes of activities of the Trusteeship Council from 1949-1959; Narrow your search to activities of the UN Visiting Missions, and be prepared with a pen and paper to lift pertinent citations from the texts for cross verification in the voluminous foot notes. Then copy or better photo copy these "foot notes" which thankfully is the APA model at the back. Then start to verify all the signatures of the petitions letters to the Trusteeship Council emanating from the British Southern Cameroons from 1949-1959. There you will find that over 98% were signed by Bamilekes and Bassa emigrants who had fled the "travaux forcee" camps in the 1920s into the peaceful and prosperous life of Southern Cameroons. The remainder were mostly calls by the Bakwerri people for their lands seized by the Germans to be returned!
^^**NOTHING POLITICAL WAS EMITTED BY THE TRUE CITIZENS OF THE TERRITORY BEING VISITED BY THE UN VISITING MISSION! ^^**

Note that emigration into the Southern Cameroons was a continuous affair: with relatives arriving after seeing/hearing of the benefits of permanent settlement. However in the 1950s there was a spike from those escaping the incipient UPC 'marquissards' uprising during their struggle for independence. Given these "emigrant francophone population" relative political and economic sophistication, they easily penetrated the political and social fabric of the Southern Cameroons polity with  surreptitious assistance in the background. Such as when Moguls like Soppo Priso provided "indirect" financing through proxies to ALL political parties in the Southern Cameroons. They all were pro-unification, leaned pro- unification or at best had no policy against the active reunification campaign in full throttle inside the Southern Cameroons. Did you notice how all of the political parties had names bearing the letter "K" for Germanic KAMERUN? From KPP, KNDP, KUNC, CPNC and OK parties only one nationalism theme was been beamed to our unsuspecting people and to the rest of the world-- we love our Cameroonian nationality and we want to return to the glory days of the grande Kanerun nation. This territory (the Southern Cameroons) which unlike any other colonized people had been PRE-determined under UN Article 76(b) to be an independent state just did not know what was going on and around them. Their politicians were clueless!!!

Reason why irredentist ultra-nationalists activists on the likes of the  UPCist's Un Uyobe, Ernest Waindim & Co. so easiky filled the void. The void being the "ideology-less " polity of a people called "Southern Cameroonians". These francophone politicians then as well as today were the people who understood the value of "political manipulation" that was to be effected when ever the opportunity arose.  How could the UN Visiting Missions have known that those petitions calling for "re-unification" of our brothers in the East were bogus ones written in the darkness of the night by one savvy UPC operative masquerading as a Southern Cameroonian political activist? They were the one who if not heading those Teacher/farmers/traders Union or association and "njangi- houses" had the wherewithal to manipulate things such as "binding resolutions" from these outfits they all but control. It happened then just as it is happening now and YET, we have not figured out what hit us in the 1950s as we go about our business casually calling ourselves  "Southern Cameroonians"!

FACT:  the true and popular desires of the people of Southern Cameroons which was independence was never known to the UN all thanks to that ever lurking evil called  "pan-Cameroonism" The UN Mission simply believed in the "what the see", "what they get", is "what's they want" premise of simplistic politics of the times! They received hundreds of petition from the territory of Southern Cameroons all  pointing towards reunification.  Reason why by 1955 the Non-Aligned Bloc of the UN was fully backing the "desire" coming from the British Southern Cameroons calling for  re-unification with the East Cameroon.

FACT: do people know that this "ideology-less" polity of the Southern Cameroon got so bad that they sought help in 1955 from the "ultra pan-Cameroonian" nationalist called Um Nyobe's? As the smart and energetic activist he was, he knew the importance of lobbying the UN during those slated Trusteeship Council sessions dedicated to the Trust Territories. Our identity/ nationality/ sovereignty clueless politicians did not know they were supposed to fly to New York and lobby for their best interest. So what did they do instead?  They sent a cable to UM Nyobe's entreating him to represent the Southern Cameroons at that 1955 TT Council session. This basically tantamount to asking the "fox to guard the chicken" house!! He took advantage of this gross abdication of responsibility on the parts of the Foncha-Endelley southern Cameroonian politicians and presented that famous  "What the Cameroonian People Want" speech! Ofcourse as if those misrepresented petitions letters were not enough, this speech carried all the themes of a "utopia" in a re-unified Cameroon. When he returned he was hailed as a true patriot with our very own "K"-affiliated political parties selling this pamphlets to our unsuspecting masses! Called that double jeopardy!

^^*^ and yet in the year 2013, we still have the political psychology of the Southern Cameroonian activists so disinterested in finding the root causes of our demise in Cameroon. As for instance, finding out:
-- (1) why was it not possible for our own representative to be in that same UN Session,
--(2) why did our entire polity not see a problem asking a total stranger to represent our interest

Just so many questions which if honestly answered would settled on just one cause and one alone: an admission that the entire Southern Cameroons political culture was one that had no idea they needed to only defend their already  prescribed independence in UN Article 76(b) and to then conduct advocacy  @exclusively@ as the unique people they already were without any interference from anyone, anywhere, and anyhow. The pan-Cameroonian led Um Nyobe's nationalist types would have been unmistakably told to take a hike just as firmly as the people of Equatorial Guinea did in 1962 when they rejected reunification overtures from the Ahidjo's Cameroon.

^** The question which we have to answer today is this:
---knowing that pan-Cameroonism is this pre-determined malicious plot that comes in ways and means we can not always ascertain,
--- knowing that history has shown that our lackadaisical or no response approach to pan-Cameroonism is why we lost what was clearly coming  to us as independence for some utopia not even the Québécois in the democracy rich Canada would dare to  experiment with.

Knowing all these begs for these questions:

(1) Does the current emancipation quest have a CONSCIOUS strategy to counter this invisible enemy called "pan-Cameroonism"?

(2) Does calling our people by the name SOUTHERN CAMEROONIAN significantly differentiates our people from the scourges of pan-Cameroonism or does it only goes to further promote pan-Camerronism?

(3) Does calling our people by the name AMBAZONIA (acknowledged as a PRE-independence tactic) significantly differentiates our people from the scourges of pan-Cameroonism or does it only goes to further promote pan-Cameroonism?

(4) Is there something afterall which our emancipation quest ought to guard against called "pan-Cameroonism"?

(5) What if there are others activists, who really feel there exist no problems we ought to guard against. Are they to continue along the track that there exist nothing in our history we must address and find solution in this our PRE-independence stage.
--such as there is no such thing called "pan-Cameroonism";
-- such as there is no such thing as our political culture lacking  an awareness of the value in "identity and nationalism" based politicking
-- such as there is no such thing as why we need to mentally circumscribe our emancipation quest under the principle-based rubric called "PRE-independence advocacy"
-- such as that there is no such thing as applying only BEST PRACTICES principles in conducting our PRE-independence politics.
--such as that there is no such thing as now experiencing a political landscape of "anything goes" as an idea to be hailed, even if it amounts to "re-invention of the wheel" !! Where our patentable  tolerance of mediocrity has now passed for consensus and inclusive politics as a way to express the  "democratic right" of that activist who insist on his ideas.

NOTE: The problem is we are not in post independence "parliamentary mode", but what should be recognized by all as "PRE-independence" mode which calls for a completely different approach and discipline!!!!

We should be have hope and be glad that a PRACTICAL SOLUTION already exist to this systemic fault in the emancipation quest. A solution tied to solving the other Achilles Heels we are known to have-- our complete lack of power to fight back pan-Cameroonism.

See below the press release of February 13-2013 which announced ALIM (Ambazonia Liberation Movement) as that practical solution now in full operation. What is needed is for the Hinterland Ambazonians to join the train.
