Python Developer
Location: Chicago, IL
Duration: 1 year Contract
Must-haves
Python programmer in Unix environment, SQL and Webservices should be their core skills.
production support experience
Be very proficient in being able to move around in UNIX (be able to change directories, go to logs, change logs, read scripts, etc.)
SQL experience (basic experience is okay -- must know select statements)
Scripting knowledge (Perl and Kornshell)
Batch experience
Great communication skills and self starter
Role
This team is working on a huge project for our client and one of their Sr. Analysts will be focusing on that project for the next 6-months. Because they are losing a resource, the bank is giving the team the funding for this candidate to take over the analysts day-to-day work. They have complex applications and need someone with previous support experience so they do not spend the first half of the contract training someone. They will be looking at logs, coding, reading scripts, and working in Unix on a day-to-day basis.
