There is also a pair of pliers available from essix that you heat up and put a dimple in the retainer, accomplishes the same thing dean is doing.

Do an essix suck down.. place a drop of flowable on the facial line angle that has moved and sand between the teeth.
The other option is to use a knife and remove the stone where the tooth is out of line before you do the suck down.
I would personally do both..
Hope this helps

Okay, I looked at that system and it is pretty much overkill to me. Looking at her model, the central has moved labially about 1mm and I just need to push it back lingually. Do I eat the expense of this, or do you give a lifetime guarantee for your retainers? I will call Space Maintainers and see what they say, too.
Thanks.

I totally agree except that I've been using don inman. He's extremely helpful and will tell you what to use. Appliances are fairly inexpensive too.

An Inman Aligner works great on cases like this, I like them better than using a series of Essix aligners.
Contact Kevin Ohlendorf at Space Maintainers Midwest, 800-325-8921. Kevin will tell you what you need for them to make one and their website has great videos on it as well. His lab does a great job in making these…

A gal who we did SMS on a couple of years ago had a retainer to break and her central incisor just drifted slightly to the buccal. Rather than hook her back up, I want to do something removable to reposition that tooth about 3/4 of a mm and then rebond a retainer.
I used to do those essix retainers a bit, but it has been ten years or so, what would be the best way to address this?
Thanks
Rick
