RE: Re: [MTC Global] Supreme court verdict on AICTE control over MBA colleges

Important thing to be noted from the enclosed circular is that MBA and MCA have been defined as non-technical courses hence not falling in the purview of AICTE Act.

Dear All,

Please don't jump for conclusions & full impact so quickly. One needs to go through the complete judgement.

As of now the scenario is that there are different categories of institutions offering MBA & MCA courses like University departments, stand alone MBA institutions offering PGDM,Institutions stand alone which are affiliated to the state universities or technical universities.

Now with this judgement the degree colleges wishing to start MBA program from affliating university would be encouraged to do so by taking permission from the University alone and would not have to seek permission from AICTE which earlier barred them from entering professional education.......................................rest honestly after reading the complete judgement one can deduce but the competetion would be more fierce, there would be more institutes than number of seats( already the position is pretty bad as there is over supply)..........................the debate needs to continue....................

Supreme court has given a land mark judgement that AICTE cannot regulate

MBA courses and management programme  offered by universities and

colleges affiliated to universities.

This judgement will have serious implications on management education in

the country.
