Need Solarwinds Admin

Location:Denver,CO

Duration:6Months

 

Job Description:

 SOLARWINDS L3 Administration

 

Responsibilities :

Ø  Add, change, and remove devices from SOLARWINDS inventory Responsible for Adding, changing, and removing network devices monitoring from SOLARWINDS inventory and troubleshooting issues

Ø  Add or change alerts in SOLARWINDS

Ø  Add or change maps in Orion Network Atlas

Ø  Review incoming traps and syslog, and convert into alerts

Ø  Use SOLARWINDS data (event list, reports, node details) to investigate issues with monitoring and identify why an alert did or did not trigger

Ø  Create standard reports using the report tool

Ø  Create custom reports using custom SQL queries inserted into the reporting tool

Ø  Update node, interface and volume details in the custom property tool

Ø  Research SNMP MIBs and accurately create new UnDP monitors for custom OID values

Ø  Provide weekly & monthly report to client

Ø  Participating in outage/problem management activities

Ø  Provide SOLARWINDS support across technical teams, business lines and application teams

Ø  Creating Distributed Application monitoring

Ø  Provide Trend Analysis and recommendation for SOLARWINDS environment

Ø  SOLARWINDS Architecture designing & propose recommendation

Ø  SOLARWINDS Application and Database sizing

Ø  Documentation

 

Skill Requirements:

Essential Skills:

Ø  SOLARWINDS  L3 Administration

Ø  Strong Knowledge of SolarWinds Orion APM and NPM software, ssh, WMI, Perfmon

Ø  Strong knowledge of SNMP, WMI, perfmon, syslog etc.

Ø  Good Knowledge on integration of SOLARWINDS and third-party tools for event forwarding and auto-ticketing.

Ø  Knowledge and familiarity with Oracle, Sybase or MS SQL database internals and architecture or experience with supporting database administration.

Ø  Very good understanding of ITIL process framework; ITIL Foundation certification preferred.

Ø  Strong verbal and written communication skills, including client-facing, presentation and relationship skills

Ø  Builds positive working relationships and works collaboratively with other team members

Ø  Experience in a large corporate environment

Ø  Self-starter and ability to work independently

Desired Skills:

Ø  Experience with general scripting know how- WMI, VBS, SQL, Power shell

 

Experience Required:

Ø  5 years + experience in SOLARWINDS Administration/implementation and upgrade

Ø  Experience on SNMP, WMI, perfmon, syslog

Ø  Experience on scripting

Ø  Knowledge and experience supporting one of the following databases (Oracle, Sybase or MSSQL).
