A fact that ignorant Northerners don’t know is it is a term that probably started prior to the Revolutionary
War defining those opposing the King. Generally, it is internationally a term applied to any US American. The Southern variant was picked up by the South during the War of Northern Aggression for the same reason that General Wolfe used in the Revolutionary War…Damned Yankees are getting their butts handed to them on a platter.

I'm just tired of everyone saying how bad the schools and graduation rates are in the SEC. The SEC's graduation rate is as high as any and better than most of the other conferences. Alabama's med, dental, business and law schools are all nationally highly respected.
Yeah, I do take it a bit personally when these yankee yahoos show their ill informed opinions <G>

David, you need to shut your mouth and look at the stats. The SEC, last year, had 5 teams in the top 13, including YOURS at #6, the top SEC school, with Alabama at #7, the second highest SEC school. That's better than any other conference.
