OK, OK.  Going out to ride my bike.

Incidentally, still open for company on the Canal du Midi ride in early Sept.

Therefore: Live like your mother told you to, eat right, sleep enough, exercise your brain and your body and don't fall for pseudoscientific hucksters. It is way too simple for us, we want to know the biologic pathways, the biochemistry of health, the balancing of ph of the blood, etc. And sure, there are lots of ways to interpret what is the right diet, what is the best amount of sleep, etc, but I think somewhere deep down, we know, even when we don't want to know.

Simple is too hard to understand! But if everybody reading this were to do those things, and really do the hard work necessary to get their weight right, their biochemistry right and the exercise they need, there would be fewer sad notices about death or disabilities among our friends on ACE.

What we know is seldom matched by what we DO!

Seems to me that people aren't really living longer, they just are taking longer to die, driving around the grocery store in their little mobile wheelchairs, sitting in their Laz-E-Boys, and our medical system often acts as an enabler, making the patient more comfortable in their disability. Truth is an elusive attribute and certainly has no economic incentive.
