RE: [ACEsthetics] N2 removal...?

Peter, I’ve been fighting that for years down here because we had two guys who only used Sargenti and the “Paste Only” technique.  Some people ran a cone down it and that makes it retreatable.  If you are doing a post take a long thin diamond like you were removing a fiber post and go down it.  The ZOE is generally softer than the tooth and will accept the diamond easier.  Then take a Munce bur and go a bit further since you have established direction.  Constant radiographs to make sure you are staying on line in the canal. 

 

Most was simply ZOE powder but one guy here was mixing amalgam powder with the paste to make it more radio-opaque and it is simply damned impossible to go down.  If it is purely the ZOE powder you can make the move down it with the long tapered diamond and he Munce.

Hi all,

 

 

Does anyone know how to remove set N2 paste from a root canal?

 

Basically it’s sort of like ZOE with a bit of formaldehyde in it.  Some of them stay “soft” forever but others do harden up.

 

It seems like concrete but I dunno.  Any magic solvents or instruments?
