RE: [MTC Global] Article- Waiting for the Leader.

……he is not conscious about his soul….

In the above statement from the article, He and soul (his soul) seem to be two separate entities. I have learnt that I am the soul and that is my identity. Please clarify.

Dear Sir,

Very good morning.

Thank you for your good words. I am attaching both the pages of my article in this mail.

I agree with your views on spirutuality. As you are aware, selflessness in actions makes a person to adopt the approach of attachment with detachment in material life. Every one has to undergo Prarabdha Karma and therefore no one can avoid the Karma Phala of the previous births or phalas of deeds done in current birth .

The Mahabharata war and other instances mentioned by you fall in this category.

There are two ways to avoid this vicious circle . One by stopping doing karmas - karma sanyasa or the other one karma phala tyaga . Karma sanyasa leads to sainthood or complete detachment from the material world. People who adopted this became spirutual gurus. They withdrew from the material world of actions but continued to work for world peace by giving advise and guidance to the people who approached them.

Karma phala tyaga makes one to be part of the material life yet be detached or unaffected by the outcomes of his actions.  To make this possible one has to cultivate a selfless approach . Great leaders have followed this style and the world was benefited by such leadership. Lord Krishna says is Gita, karma phala tyaga is greater than karma sanyasa. Vivekananda wanted to leave his body much earlier but it was delayed by his prarabdha karmas and also by the mission of propagating world peace as advised by his master Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa.

Once again thank you Sir for your nice words.

With warm regards,

B.N.V.Parthasarathi.

I could realize on reading your one page attachment that the article is excellent
based on spirituality, union with the cosmos, lotus-like scenario. Can I request
you to furnish me a copy of the full paper.

However, a few thoughts peep in my mind:
1.
Adapting spirituality in a few aspects, like selflessness, detachment, etc., may
turn a leader into a great leader.
2.
I fear a fully spiritualist may not turn to be a leader in mundane affairs. The
moment Swami Vivekanada realized that he was not Narendra but Narayana, he left
body.
3.
Bhagawat Geeta has spelt out many techniques like Sankhya, Raj Yoga, etc. to
achieve spirituality but the Mahabharata war could neither be avoided nor
stopped.
4.
The extent of spirituality conduct (deployment) is greatly constrained in respect
of leaders, spiritual; or others, like stalwarts like Dronacharya, Bhishma,
Bhima, etc., could not protect Draudadi when she was brought in the Court and
abused like anything.

The above does not mean that spirituality does not play a role in leadership
style. In fact, spirituality based leadership can resolve many issues from
corruption to cabin giving prosperity and quality life to one and all, hopefully.
