PHP Developer
Location: Mid town NYC (Need locals only)
Duration: 6 months +

 

In-person Interview required after telephonic.

Job description:

• Mid Level – Sr. PHP Developer
• Client is looking for a talented backend PHP Developer to join their collaborative team for Web and API development.
• The chosen candidate will be responsible for system migrations, new website development and enhancements to existing website portfolio.
• Another main responsibilities include unit testing, documentation and user regression testing.
• Understanding the current landscape of open source frameworks, emerging technologies, and website management & server technologies is critical.

Requirements:

• The right candidate must have 4+ years of proven working experience in coding PHP5 OOP applications, be great team player with background in web services or middleware and back-end technologies. Desire to write well documented testable code. A person willing to learn new technologies.
• Strong knowledge of PHP5, SQL and Strong Object Oriented Programming skills
• Experience with major PHP frameworks (Zend, Symfony, CodeIgniter, CakePHP, Zend, Kohana, etc.)
• Extensive experience with LAMP stack and open source software in general
• Strong SQL development and design skills.
• Experience with creating and consuming RESTful APIs
• Experience in working with legacy code
• Strong knowledge and experience with data representation and formats including XML, JSON, binary etc
• Experience in an Agile development environment
• Must have excellent problem solving skills and love technical challenges
• Must be self-motivated, and able to multi-task
• Produces well versed clean code according to PHP coding standards
• Documents code, algorithm and HowTos in WIKI
• Must have willingness to have fun
• Must be motivated to learn
• 4 - 7 years of IT experience

Must Have:

• PHP 5 OOP
• MVC
• MySQL
• SQL
• PHPUnit (Basic understanding is OK)
• XML, JSON
• Version Control (We use GIT, SVN is OK)
• Design Patterns

Plus to have, but not necessary:

• Akamai
• Memcashed
• ESI (Edge Side Includes)
• No-SQL database
• Jenkins (CI)
• Redis
• Varnish
• JIRA
• AWS
• PHPDoc
• Javascript
