Subject: We Mourn Dr Amstrong Ayuk Dear Friends,Almost a couple of weeks ago, our small Cameroonian community in San Diego lost a truly dear brother and friend, Dr Amstrong Ayuk, and we graciously need your help to send him home.Amstrong's story is both heart wrenching and one of utmost inspiration for us left to mourn him. He was barely 35yrs old, but in his short life, he fought and won many battles such that for those of us who knew him well, he will remain an example of determination, unfailing faith in God, and acceptance of His Will, always with a smile. For that we affectionately called him "Strong", and the hospital nurses called him "Mr Nice".Amstrong went through 2 kidney transplants, and found time in between to obtain his PhD in finance. The stress of the transplants likely led to him developing a rare cancer which he fought valiantly, including a successful bone marrow transplant. For about a year, he enjoyed life outside of the hospital, but then his donated kidney began failing. Back in the hospital for almost 3 months he would lose the kidney, get a chest infection, lose functioning of his lungs and eventually on Sept 14th, our brother passed away. We are trusting in God promise that he is in better and pain free place. Amstrong inspired us to take on life's challenges in stride, with kindness, determination, and a smile. We are left with the huge financial task of ensuring Amstrong is taken home to be laid to rest next to his parents. Our San Diego community is very small and as many of you know we function as an extension of the larger Los Angeles community. We cannot take on this challenge alone without your help. You may not know this brother, and may rightly wonder why you would help someone who will never pay you back. But helping out would be true charity; true kindness does not anticipate paypack in kind. I therefore kindly ask that you each consider chipping in whatever you can to help us with the last act of kindness we extend to Amstrong. He was a charming, ambitious, life loving, intelligent brother, but whom God loved more, and has taken from us. Please help us send him home. You can make your donations using the paypal account on Amstrong's memorial website:http://www.dramstrongayuk.com/Or at Bank of America account:
