INTEGRATIVE NUTRITION SCIENCE POSITION
The Department of Public Health, Food Studies and Nutrition in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics at Syracuse University invites applicants for a full time faculty position in integrative nutrition science, to begin in August 2014. This position may be filled on a tenure-track by a research scholar (rank open) or by an experienced integrative nutrition practitioner as a Professor of Practice. For the tenure-track line, we seek an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. The department seeks a high-energy faculty member with expertise in integrative and functional medical nutrition therapy, integrative nutrition science, nutritional biochemistry, metabolism, nutritional genomics, immunity, and inflammation.
Responsibilities:
This individual will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas such as nutritional biochemistry, functional nutritional assessment, metabolism, nutritional genomics, and vitamins and minerals; advise undergraduate students, supervise and mentor graduate students; and provide service to the program, department, college, or university. If hired on a tenure line, the individual will be expected to develop and maintain an active community-based research program and pursue external funding. If hired as a Professor of Practice, the individual will be expected to teach additional courses.
Qualifications:
For a tenure/tenure track candidate, minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate related to integrative nutrition science, an active portfolio of research with funding appropriate to rank, peer reviewed publications (or evidence of potential to develop such a portfolio), and teaching experience at the university level. For a Professor of Practice, minimum qualifications include a master's degree or equivalent, appropriate professional practice credentials and teaching experience. Experience with accreditation of either nutrition/dietetics or public health education programs desirable.
The Department of Public Health, Food Studies and Nutrition offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in nutrition and public health and is building a food studies program. The Nutrition Science & Dietetics programs are developing courses in Integrative and Functional Nutrition. The department focus is on health issues among diverse populations. Approximately 500 undergraduate and 40 graduate students pursue degrees in this department. Opportunities exist for collaboration at Syracuse University, with the State University of New York (SUNY) and community-based agencies in the Syracuse area. Public Health Nutrition POSITION

We seek an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. The department seeks a high-energy faculty member with expertise in the nutrition policy, community nutrition, social media / nutrition health promotion, food systems and the food environment, nutrition epidemiology and global health/nutrition
Responsibilities:
This individual will develop and maintain an active, community-based research program, pursue external funding, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in research methods, participatory program planning, community/ public health nutrition and/or life cycle nutrition; advise undergraduate students, supervise and mentor graduate students; provide service to the program, department, college, or university; and establish professional liaisons with organizations in the local community and the global field.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate related to public health nutrition, an active portfolio of externally funded research and peer reviewed publications (or evidence of potential to develop such a portfolio), and teaching experience at the university level. We are willing to consider candidates trained in a variety of disciplines but with research and teaching expertise in community/public health nutrition. Dietetic registration and MPH degree preferred. Experience with accreditation of either nutrition/dietetics or public health education programs desirable.
