Location: Albany, NY
Duration: More than a year
Ideal candidate will have management experience, RQM (Rational Quality Manager), some automation exp and industry (claims/healthcare/edi/508 compliance) experience.

1 = no knowledge of the technology
2 = Read about, or experimented with the technology but no professional experience
3 = Experience with the technology, but not yet mastered

4) Months for years of experience (on resume)
Test Manager
Responsibilities:
• Lead a group of testers (15-20) to meet established target dates
• Coach and mentor the testers to ensure quality testing
• Coach and mentor the test team in test automation
• Coach and Mentor the testers to meet currently established target dates
• Monitor the performance of currently assigned testers
• Complete Daily reports and distribute the same day
• Work with PMO to accurately report metrics
• Facilitate timely delivery of project deliverables
• Willingness to work effectively with and report to higher management
• Demonstrate good people skills, ability to motivate assigned staff
• Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills
Required Skills:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, mathematics, or
engineering or a mathematics-intensive discipline, or an applicable certificate of training from
an accredited institution
• Eleven (11) or more years of intensive and progressive experience in a computer related field
with four years within the last eight calendar years of intensive and progressive experience in
performing software testing for complex and highly complex software/hardware applications
and/or systems
• Three (3) years of experience managing a group of 15-20 people is required
• Must have a thorough working experience in QA/Testing using various QA Testing
methodologies and complete SDLC understand
• Must have detailed test management experience with building and maintaining test plans, test
suites, test cases, defects and test scripts using automated testing tools. Have vast knowledge
of testing techniques to cover all possible corner cases for testing, verification and validation
techniques
• Be detailed oriented, have excellent writing and verbal communication skills and possess client
facing skills
• Have hands on experience in very complex and large web-based application (portal) testing built
on Java, Web-sphere (presentation layer), DB2 LUW (backend database) and middleware (web
services, API calls testing using SOAP UI)
• Working knowledge of MS office tools (MS Word for documents, MS Excel for reporting, etc.)
• Hands on working experience in writing SQL skills using joins for data validation from various
data sources using DB2 LUW
• Sound hands-on knowledge of healthcare insurance domain with testing EDI transactions
Preferred Skills:
• Extensive hands-on functional knowledge of Rational Quality Manager for test management in
collaboration with Rational Team Concert and Rational Requirement Composer
• Must be a team player, quick responsive, contributor, coordinator, cooperative, understanding,
cordial and adaptive to rapid changes in a complex changing environment
• Must be willing to put in extra effort including working late evening and weekend hours to
accomplish the given tasks for the highly visible NY-HX Project
• In-depth working experience of validation ADA 508 Compliance
