Location: Chicago, IL
Candidates must have experience who has developed own frameworks, scripting, vbscript and experience with working with different interfaces. setting up test automation on Windows platforms, some Linux experience is desirable. experience in automating QTP test scripts.
QA Engineer with development background.
This position will work closely and collaboratively with Development Engineering during all phases of the software development lifecycle. Candidates should have experience with Operating Systems and distributed applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Designs quality assurance and test processes for end-user applications/system software running on-site and in the Cloud.
Analyzes requirements/designs and determines test scripts, coding, automation, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.
Writes and executes complete test plans and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs product issues.
Leads QA efforts for software projects to develop reliable and cost-effective solutions.
Collaborates and communicates with team and management regarding test status, project progress, and issue resolution.
Represents the software quality assurance team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.
Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.
Designs and builds test environments and data sets.
Knowledge and Skills requirements:
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Major programming language experience (Java, C, C++, C#, etc.).
Experience with VB and scripting languages (Perl, batch, shell, etc.).
Broad Operating System and networking knowledge.
Understanding of SQL/relational database concepts.
Experience using software quality assurance tools and processes.
Experience with Windows and UNIX/Linux environments.
Ability to handle multiple assignments with deadlines.
Knowledge of software testing methodology, including test plan development and execution.
Experience with multiple-platform software products.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate product requirements/features, designs, issues, plans and propose options at management levels. |
