Very balanced view on Incredible India. I agree with Prof. Ramesh Vemuganti. I have also held the views at some other place that "Many of the economic reforms initiated in July 1991 remain unfinished due to political economy constraints. If these reforms in land, labor, capital markets, energy sector, education, civil services, governance, municipalities and corporations are brought to their logical ends, then India would emerge as one of the most favorable destination and a land of immense opportunities for all. India is a miracle waiting to happen. All foreign investors and development partners are welcome to participate in that exciting journey of India's development process over the next two decades.

All the parameters you mentioned in your mail registered a significant growth, despite the fact, I repeat, despite the fact that , more than one third of Indians were BPL. That number has come down substantially, of late, will come down more & all efforts are in that direction.
Three drastic changes are required - a more accountable & people centric Govt at Centre & States, Two, Change in politicians focus on growth & development, not minting money. Their greed & thinking, to allow people BPL to languish for decades, must change. Three, India is replete with intellectual derelicts, who are a major factor in stunting our progress. They use their intellect for destructive purpose - criticism, cynicism, deep analysis of various indices, totally unasked for, discouraging others from doing anything, including talking. Instead, adopt a village, choose one area, do some contribution There are several areas to start off- just do it. or else, they must go out of the system.

despair, but this will not get us anywhere. In the final analysis it boils down to
what we as individuals can do by way of discharging our responsibility and perform
our duties fearlessly and diligently and not caring a damn.

The judiciary has done its job by enforcing NOTA ( people's right to reject the
candicates in election )and banning convicts from contesting in the elections. The
ball is now in people's court. It is not only our fundamental right to vote but
our duty towards the country to elect the right people. When all of us feel this
responsibility and exercise our votes in the right manner, then we can bring a
change in the system and accountability of the Govt to the people.We have to be
hopeful to see the light at the end of the tunnel ,though the tunnel may be too
long and keep working towards it by motivating the people around us.
