RE: [MTC Global] RE: India a view point

In my opinion we do need reservation system but of different nature. We need institutions where free education will be provided to have-nots and drown trodden societies to make them competitive to earn their place based on their merits. Efforts of Prof. Anand in Patna could emulated by the Government. A small effort in this direction was made through Navoday Vidyalaya which gave excellent results for first few years and then same corruption entered into these institutions also and today they have remained only for name sake. RtE is a step in right direction on paper but its implementation is so lousy that soon it will lose its relevant. Ensure that facility is given only to those who are willing to invest time and effort and ensure that schools are reimbursed all the cost (not only tuition fees) and we can have good results. But today the state of affairs is that admissions are made on the paper but majority of the students do not attend the schools because then can not afford other costs of uniforms, books, transport, food etc.

I am glad to have found someone like-minded - I get a lot of flak from various sides, but obviously, all have th!eir own (not-so hideable!) agendas. Especially political outfits: they need the reservation system as it is an easy tool fro them to play the votebank card.

Dear Satish,

there's nothing wrong with our Constitution! The problem is that our (political and other) decision makers violate it continuously, and that the reservation system is adverse to any sustainable development. These have to be tackled!
