Sometimes I marvel at the dysfunctionality of our Cultural Groups. Take the Bamendrous people for example. These people are always at each other's throats and "Atorghos", with the antecedent being unnecessary Tribal or Inter village WARS. Let us look at the SANTA people today. Tomorrow, I will look at the Bameta, Werekoum, Mugynembou, Ngie-Ngwo Fights followed by the different BALI Fights, the NDOP, Bamessing, Bamali Kejem Kekou misunderstandings, the BUI, Nso, Kumbo, Noni, Nkambe-Kakah conundrum, the Mbuting, Befang, Bafmen, Aghem/Wum unending rivalries and the ever present Fulani/Mbororo distrust of uncompromising Bamendrous Landlords.
In Santa alone (a town of less than 7,000 inhabitants), you have: Santa Mbu, Santa Akum, Santa Mbei and Santa Njong, Santa Pinyin and to add to this cacophony, enter a new Santa called Santa Moforgwe. Take note, all of these people are kind of related (by bood) to each other but unfortunately because of PAWA or BORITIC DU BELLE (SDF Vs CPDM) Man no fit drink wata. It is either, the perennial Land Disputes, Jealousies, Chop "Chiar" Palaver, Njumba Marret Palaver or you are either a Barforchu FRU NDI or a Barforchu ACHIDI ACHU. My question to not only the SANTA peepoo but all Bamendrous elements…What the heck is this new Santa MOFORGWE that is pitting Sons and Daughters at Daggers Drawn? Can we agree to live in harmony and peace and not in pieces? Can someone clarify to us, which Santa is which? The latest News I have is that SANTA women have rebelled and are now refusing to marry Guys from Santa Extraction moving to far away destinations as Nkong-Mbu,Babadjou, Mbouda...some are even known to marry IGBO Biafra Abriba Buyam Sellam traders, "Mutu Spia" Parts Dealers and "ManGlass" Forkernizers near the famous Commercial Avenue in Down Town Njuh Mankon.
