Java Middleware Developer
Chicago, IL
6 months Contract to Hire
We are looking for a Java middleware developer with strong hands-on experience. You will be working in a fast-paced, team-oriented, agile environment. You will primarily be working on our J2EE based application infrastructure development.
GENERAL CONSULTANT ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Software design and review
• Software development of application or system components • Requirements definition and analysis • Unit testing of developed code • Investigation and root cause analysis of software and system defects • Maintain and run tools and processes that support and automate software product release • Understand the technical aspects of the products used to support the configuration management activities of the development process • Adapt configuration management tools for the complex needs of the development teams or the management of the development process • Generate, monitor and maintain Baseline Audit, and Configuration Item Version Control • Publish release packages and records • Deploy the development artifacts to a staging area for release to production • Enforce process compliance • Create and execute approved test plans and analyzes and report results • Decompose requirements for testability and provide feedback to the requirement gathering process • Interact with customers/users to support software acceptance process and act as a liaison between development and user community • Investigate and report problems
Job Requirements: JOB SPECIFICATIONS
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Management Information Systems
• 6+ years of engineering experience
• JDK 5 or later version
• Spring framework (IOC/DI) and various spring modules
• Persistence framework (EJB, HIBERNATE, ORM or equivalent)
• Web services: SOAP and REST (JAX-WS and JAX-RS)
• Familiar with at least one of the web app framework (Spring MVC, Struts, JSF or GWT)
• JMS and Message Queues
• SQL & PL/SQL
• JDBC
• Excellent knowledge in using design patterns
• Tomcat/JBoss
• Agile or RUP
• Subversion /JIRA
Nice to Have but not essential:
• Web application development on MVC/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, Servlet, etc.
• Groovy scripting
• MongoDB / NoSQL Databases
• Oracle APEX
