Re: [MTC Global] Affiliation......but WHAT?

Well said Nagarajan Sir.
The purpose of education should be learning while ending up with gainful employment could be the offshoot of it.
But after 80s two sectors namely health and education have become highly commercial and accordingly the rat race with parents being after employment exchanges (sorry to say that b schools have been reduced to this).
It's high time we reorient our education system and can learn a lot in this regard from the experience of Finland.

Subject: Re: [MTC Global] Affiliation......but WHAT?

All said and done, the educational system prevailing in our country is under the principle " Unity in Diversity " . We are branding the educational institutions based on their 'students' employability potential as Tire-1, Tier-2, Tier-3, Tier-4 institutions. Value of the educational institutions are gauged by their employment affording potential rather than the Quality of the students and the Faculty therein.. At the time of admissions, parents prefer admitting their wards in the so called "TIRE" institutions and if they don' get admission in such institutions they feel it is a curse for them.

Ultimately, the goal of the parents and the wards is the employability potential of the colleges not the quality faculty or the right infrastructure, the colleges have. Who is to be blamed for this predicament. Parents?, Wards?, Institutions?, Universities? Government?, Politicians?, Great educationists?,
Visionaries?  It is a million dollar question. In my opinion it is the synergy of all constituents.

Another painful thing is that  when a student enters even TIRE branded institutions after selecting his core subjects, say Mechanical, Civil or Electrical, at the end of his course he is placed in an I T sector. Unfortunately, when the students prefer studying in Branded colleges with a soul aim to master the core choice of various disciplines, it ends up getting a job in an unconnected sector. All the efforts taken by him in mastering the core subject in the premier institutions goes to docks when he does not get a subject related job.

My concern is that as to why the discriminatory approach in classifying the colleges as Premier and non premier institutions when the educational system is well defined by the universities and subjects taught as per the curriculum. Unless the infrastructure and the Teaching resources are strengthened,  discriminatory approach  in branding the colleges cannot be stopped.

Will there be a "Renaissance"  or an "Educational Revolution" anytime in future  when the issues faced by the society will be answered?

Greetings  to all MTCians.

NAAC standards are the formal benchmark of the academic and informal bench mark are set by individual institions for industry requirements in parting knowledge for employability to students. The present day thrust is on education and value based education . The add on courses organised  for students is highlighted and are value focused , while some of the institutions fails to understand the  that  its not enough to teach values of human concern and centerdness to students through coures but set an example the way the people are treated by the administrators. some of the policies  are  pen down only on papers. The non implementation of the policies creats an atmosphere of dis satisfaction which will have an impact on the environment.

one of the best practices of the adminstrators of the educational institutions should be  to see that they set example for others to implement and voluntary make them feel to practice it. The learning also happens through observation.
