Dear Sir, Is learning possible without self discipline? Of the class of 60
students barely 10 are desirous of learning. How then can a teacher make the rest
learn? In these permissive times, who wants self discipline. It is a given that the
teacher is the single most important factor in student's learning. The large class
makes it next to impossible for the teacher to counsel and motivate the large
number of despirited students to learn.
There is a need to reduce the no of students in any class to not more than 25
students. Who is listening?

>Dear all,
"If we alter our delivery styles to suit the learning styles of our students and
trainees, would they learn more and faster?" This is an issue raided by our
colleague Mr.Vinod. Exactly right. That is the requirement of the day.
Finally the teacher has to stoop down to the level of expectations of the students
and start teaching to the students' taste to enable them to learn faster.
It is only a shrewd manager or a teacher who has to mould himself to "reach" the
students. In whatever manner you teach the students, finally they must be willing
to learn. Even a little slackness on the part of the students or the faculties
will have disastrous consequences. Willingness to learn is a main criteria. In a
class of 50+ the mensrea of the students will be varying from person to person. It
is difficult to satisfy each and every student.
Whenever I visited any management school/ institutions the professors use to tell
that the students who are just out from schools are like mass of stone and we have
to carve out the shape of Manager/ Leader in them. That is the job of the
faculties. The co-operation and the co-ordination of the students also a must
while the CARVING takes place.
It is again learning, Learning and Learning that matters; Added to this what is
required is Practice, Practice , Practice.

Definitely. What you know is not important. What matters is what the other person
understood. We need to vary our style and mode to suit the requirements. Brother
we moved from barter to tangible to intangible and now in experiential economy you
know.
