Job Description :
Overview:
Ø The Lead Developer will work with investment personnel and fellow IS team members located globally to analyze and implement small and medium sized projects, delivering custom solutions to be used in the investment and research process.
Ø Daily activities will include application support, hands on development, project management, requirements gathering and documentation, application design, code reviews, implementation, testing/quality assurance, and end-user training.
Ø This position requires technical proficiency and a high level of direct interaction with end users and provides a broad set of opportunities including application development, project management and client management.
Ø This resource will be working as part of a team building a valuation tool to consolidate company models in a framework to help come up with a fair value of a security.
Responsibilities:
Ø Work closely with investment professionals located globally at all levels of the organization to provide support using the follow-the-sun approach for existing applications and proactively identify opportunities for new/improved systems.
Ø Partner with users to iteratively deliver applications that are critical to their investment process.
Ø On an ongoing basis provide enhancements to previously deployed solutions.
Ø Collect, document and implement systems requirements.
Ø Set development standards, code solutions and perform code reviews, where applicable and ensure development practices adhere to firm guidelines
Ø Perform data gap analysis and facilitate remediation efforts
Ø Plan and manage small and medium-sized support projects and perform development and deployment
Ø Work with users to prioritize needs and provide communication to keep them apprised of progress.
Technical Requirement:
Ø C#, Strong ability in front-end programming, specifically with Javascript, HTML5, CSS3.
Ø Advanced experience in a JS framework such as AngularJS, Backbone.js. Node.js, JSON, a plus. Oracle and/or SQL Server database knowledge is a plus.
Ø Skilled in object oriented application design and development in one or more programming languages.
Ø Excel and Excel VBA would be a big +
Domain Knowledge Requirement:
Ø Have a strong understanding of the Investment Process, including knowledge of Equities, Derivatives and Market Data (i.e. FactSet, Bloomberg, etc.).
Ø Strong Client Interfacing skills are required.
Ø This is a Senior Level Individual Contributor role.
Qualifications
Ø Strong hands on development experience working with C# , Advanced experience in a JS framework such as AngularJS.
Ø Strong ability in front-end programming
Ø Understanding of the investment process, research workflows, equity and derivative securities, and market data services.
Ø Microsoft Office Application expertise, in particular with Excel and the creation/maintenance of Excel VBA macros is a plus
Ø Strong SQL skills and prior experience with Oracle/SQL Server tools.
Ø Strong, hands-on knowledge of Sharepoint is a plus
Ø 3+ years’ experience directly supporting investment professionals.
Ø 10+ years of professional experience
Ø Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Ø Strong motivation and ability to work in a fast paced team environment
Ø Ability to work independently and own projects from beginning to end
Ø Ability to manage multiple priorities, project plans and milestones effectively.
Ø Bachelor's degree required
Keys to the Job:
1. Strong hands on development experience working with C# - They should have at least 10 years of experience.
2. Advanced experience in a JS framework such as AngularJS. The candidate needs to have at least 1 year working with a Javascript Framework as we are integrating our front end to a Java based back end application
3. Strong ability in front-end programming
4. Strong SQL skills
5. Financial Services experience is a big +
6. Although this is based in Boston, the candidate may on occasion need to go to Marlboro.
7. Candidate must be a strong communicator.
