Position: Functional Automation Tester
Duration: 12 months+
Location: St Paul, MN
JOB DESCRIPTION
The client is looking for Functional Automation Tester someone with the government background.
Government - any State government project-Like Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of Health, Department of Transportation- any department within the state government.
As the Functional Automation Tester, candidates must perform the following:
• Experience testing systems built on .NET framework using SQL Server
• Participate in product spec reviews, design reviews, defect triage calls, and other project meetings as required
• Ability to manage defects, including reporting, assessing report metrics, identifying trends, and instigating warranted process improvements when possible
• Possess strong verbal communications
• Possess strong leadership skills with an open and collaborative communication style.
• Possess strong problem solving skills
• Possess high accountability and self-drive to take on and see through big challenges
• Possess confidence, takes ownership, willingness to "do what it takes" to get the job done
• Able to provide accurate time/resource estimates for assigned tasks
• Ability to work independently, take initiative with minimal supervision and with the flexibility to adapt quickly to changing client requirements
• Analyzes testing requirements as the basis for developing testing scenarios for the test level to be executed
• Designs testing scenarios and test cases that will demonstrate conformance to all functional requirements relative to the test level as defined in business or technical specifications
• Able to provide accurate time/resource estimates for assigned tasks
• Improving testing collateral through lessons learned participation and contribution
Skills Required (provide specific details around tools, client environment, certifications needed, etc):
• This person must have the following skills:
• Testing automation experience, preferably with HP's UFT (HP's Unified Functional Testing Tool), which is HP's latest version of Quick Test Pro (QTP)
• Thorough understanding of testing practices, methodologies, and processes
• Experience with testing tools such as Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), Quality Center (QC), Quick Test Pro (QTP), Unified Functional Testing (UFT)
• Knowledge in SDLC and development process
• Strong communication skills - good listener and communicator
• Must be a team player; excellent written and communication skills is a must
Education Requirements:
• 5+ Years of total IT experience with minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Tester (experience testing systems built on .Net framework utilizing SQL Server preferred)
• 2+ years of experience with test automation for enterprise applications
• Strong functional testing experience, including functional integrated component testing, functional system testing (including some security testing and data validation), consolidated integrated end to end functional testing, regression testing and UAT support
• Experience delivering business value on time and with highest quality, even under aggressive release schedules
• Possess strong test planning, test scenario, test case/script development and execution, test tracking, and test status reporting capability
Optional Skills
• Experience in State Motor Vehicle projects.

· Exp in Migrating Data from Mainframe system to Cloud based HCM./ Payroll Solution
· Assisting and helping new customer migrate onto the cloud based platform.
· This is non-SAP, and requires SQL script skills.
· Data Lead needs to be onsite to be the overall data lead for the engagement.
