Position : SQL server/BI IT Test Engineer 2 (SQL/BI SDET)
Location: Redmond, WA
Duration: 6+ months
Job Description :
IT Test Engineer 2 is a member of the Client’s Quality Assurance team working on new, and existing BI Solutions software products. The candidate must be able to ensure the product meets the needs specified in the requirements. This includes review of the functional requirements and technical documentation, Mapping Documents and preparing, executing and reporting the results of an acceptance test plan which is cost effective given the risk of the project.
Responsibilities :
Create detailed test plan, and test cases based on requirements / technology / design
Creative test plans explaining the test coverage
Create, maintain and execute test automation scripts, with existing automation tools.
Collaborate with software engineering as needed to resolved problems and identify root cause of defects
Contribute to project progress reports and testing metrics
Assist in maintaining project schedules
Collaborate with offshore Dev / Test team in china
Skills & Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
5 + years of Quality Assurance experience testing commercial software
3 years of hands on data warehouse testing / automation
Experience with SQL Server 2008 and higher versions and ability to write complex SQL queries , Resolving report requirements / Mapping documents
Thorough understanding of Data Modeling
Experience in Testing Cube, Writing low – medium complex MDX (SQL Server Analysis Server)
Experience in Data warehouse/Business Intelligence testing
Experience with any (May not be listed here) automated data warehouse testing tools (DbUnit, DbFit, the SQL Developer Unit Test tool, or Quest Code Tester for Oracle)
Testing experience in an Agile environment
Understanding of Risk Based testing
Experience with VSTF for defect tracking and Task Maintenance
Working ability with Microsoft Office
Experience with keyword and data driven test automation
Must be able to multi-task
Must be a self-starter and a quick in ramp up, business or technology
Good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Excellent time management skills
Additional Desired Skills :
Knowledge in Supply Chain Industry
1-2 years of SQL developer experience is a plus
Knowledge of KIMBAL’s DWH Implementation
