Re: [cameroons_sdf_party] RE: [camnetwork] We Should Have "Zero Tolerance" for Hate Speech

From the Palace of Sessekou Ebini:
"Here is what I suggest: all of us who truly want change should commit to make a minimum contribution to this struggle of a $100.00 a month. We should set up a structure with require checks and accountability to manage this effort and money. We can talk all we want but we will not get any place with our talks without the necessary funds. We must start putting our money where our mouth is. As far as these thinks are concerned, there will be some strategic engagements that will be secret and confidential for effectiveness".

How is this your "New" proposal different from the Konde, Louis Mbua, Jude Okafor CAMFOUND PROJECT of more than twelve years ago? I remember reading something from (remember the ever recurrent Camnet epic Fights?) so called "Original Blue Print" which asked 1000 devoted Diaporans to contribute the same proverbial $100.00 per month X 12 months to arrive at the mouth watering ostentatious amount of $1.2 billion dollars…which would have been used to "Tchakara" any "Ngopna".

Are you recycling the moribund CAMFOUND IDEOLOGY of revolutionizing Cameroon through a Financial Coup d,Etat? I can reassure you that it sounds very good inside your head and on paper BUT as far as WE Cameroonians are concerned, I am sorry:
IT AIENT GONNA HAPPEN IN OUR LIFE TIME.

The first questions that will pop up:
1)    Who will be the TREASURER of such a gargantuan undertaking? Manpikin or Womanpikin?
2)   Will that TREASURER be an over-bearing Land grabbing Bamendrous Graffi man from the NW, a Life-Chopper from the SW or our nemesis Francophone "Patrons"?
3)   Can such monies be left in the hands of a "Tchop Broke Pot" Makaranah Yaoundé man or L,argent doit and MUST rester au village Bamileke Man?
4)   Who will be elected PRESIDENT of that One Billion Dollar Group?...Bicos if Mishe Fon or his Kontri Peepoo are not running the "Show" you can kiss the whole thing "Bye Bye". How about that for "Nepotism or abi na Tribalism"?
5)   What if the PRESIDENT and TREASURER suddenly disappear? Like they just move to Argentina, Honduras, Mexico or Brazil and change their names to DIEGO FERNANDEZ or LOPEZ VALDEZ?

Subject: RE: [camnetwork] We Should Have "Zero Tolerance" for Hate Speech

My dear brother Boh: greetings. It is good for us to speak out against hate speeches and bigotry. Just as we have been speaking out against bad governance,  political abuses, dictatorship and the acts of Biya and the French against southern cameroons. But speaking alone is not enough and will not give us the desired solutions. It is time for us to effectively act. We must act as much as we speak about these things because the system in place is not listening or care about what we have to say. Our actions is what will give us what we want.

Many of us have different concerns,  with different desires but if you look at things clearly engaging in some form of effective and collective actions can directly or indirectly give us our different desires. Any form of action can weaken the resolve of Biya and the French continuous hold over our country or countries. Biya can be forced out, a system of political accountability can be put in place and the country can either return to a federal system or the southern cameroons can either embrace a return to Federation or a path to full autonomy.

We in the diaspora are well placed to ignite these action to support the people on the grounds. Knowing they have our support and commitment, they will be embolden to engage and take the necessary risks. This needs money. If we come up with money to finance these actions, things will be different, we will be taken seriously and we will start seeing results. We need money to engage this struggle from different fronts: legally, legislatively, sponsoring massive civil disobedience and to protect and defend our people if the French and Biya respond violently to our nonviolent approach to call them to order.

Here is what I suggest: all of us who truly want change should commit to make a minimum contribution to this struggle of a $100.00 a month. We should set up a structure with require checks and accountability to manage this effort and money. We can talk all we want but we will not get any place with our talks without the necessary funds. We must start putting our money where our mouth is. As far as these thinks are concerned,  there will be some strategic engagements that will be secret and confidential for effectiveness.

This is what I am proposing. The talking,  the debates, the beautiful and intelligent analyses, the legal and historical writeups are good and informative but engaging in them in isolation without structured, planned and effective actions is a waste of time, lame and to no resolution to our serious problems. Think over this. I am ready. Enough is enough. I believe we can do this.

Jesusman:

What have you done? Do you realize that you have crossed the divide that separates free speech from hate speech? Do you realize you are buried in hate speech?

As a leader, I think you have done all of us on this forum and especially yourself a serious disservice and dishonor. Whose interests do you serve by doing such disparaging harm to the honorable people of the South West Region? What, honestly, have they done to deserve any of these insults and outright disrespect?

Could you also tell those of us (Camnet members) why you think we deserve to endure these poisonous words of hate?

Martin Eyong Tabe's initial posting on this forum revolted me, but very sadly, I did not decry it immediately. We cannot and should never be shocked into the of paralysis that is evident in guilty silence. We must decry hate speech wherever it rears its ugly head and as often as it crops up.

There is so much to do and I wish we did not have to spend time on decrying a string of hate-lovers. It worries me, as a rights advocate, that incidents like this have sadly continued to grow, not reduce on this forum.

Short of seeing Camnet, Cameroon Politics and others find more effective ways of stemming hate speech, some of us will be left with no choice than to stop being associated with these fora or online platforms.

In addition, when Okalia Bilai has the ear of Biya through which the almighty can hear the pleas for a premiership? We laugh at the herd, but the herd has grazed more land than we have. Behold the laughingstock of Cameroon: South West Province. Bedeviled by the crab syndrome, they have torn apart their own limbs and now smack with unwanton callousness. When you see a people who can remain quiet at the incarceration of Inoni in the dungeon, then you know a people with no backbone.
